Follow-up to abnormality detected at 10 weeks
If you didn't see my post last week, I was informed by my midwife that at my 10 week ultrasound there was a potential abnormality detected in the skull. They weren't sure if it was an actual issue or if it was just to early to get a clear picture.
I had a follow-up ultrasound yesterday at 14 weeks, 5 days and its about as bad as it can be. The skull did not form right and is not closed, there is no normal brain tissue and the chest cavity did not close so all baby's organs are on the outside.
I will be meeting with my midwife today to go over my options but we've been getting the impression from the techs that the baby will likely not survive to full term and certainly not after birth.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers the past week. I will be thinking of all you ladies in September and hoping for healthy babies and smooth deliveries.
