Suggestions to relax a tightened calf muscle?

So lately (second day in a row) my right calf muscle has stay very tight, like there is a knot in there. Wondering if I just need a good leg massage from DH... but I do know that with this, walking up and down our stairs is a challenge in it's self.

Any suggestions to loose the muscle?
