How much do you spend on kid shoes?

I'm debating on buying DS1 a pair of Sperry's for summer, but they're 40. Which seems like so much for a pair of kid shoes, especially toddler ones. They should last so that DS2 can wear them, too, when he gets older. So there's that. But gah, I don't even buy myself 40 shoes.
I did try looking at all the consignments sales in the area, but no luck.

So maybe I should rephrase my question to, what's the most you'll spend on a pair of kid's shoes?

  • That's 40 dollars, by the way. I'm on mobile and apparently it doesn't like dollar signs.

  • We live right by a huge outlet mall with Stride Rite, Sperry, etc. so I don't usually have to spend more than 25, but now that we have DS2 who's already fitting in DS1's things from last summer, I wouldn't mind spending more to get us through the 2 boys.

  • DS has had 2 pairs of sperry's and they hold up great.

I usually buy DS's shoes at stride rite so I spend 40 or more. But He doesn't need shoes all that often so I usually hit the sales, use coupons or shop at the outlet.

30-50. The last pair of shoes I bought DS were a pair of nice Nikes, that were 50. They may not wear them a long time as toddlers, but shoes are something they at least wear everyday or regularly so you get your money's worth I think.

I'm not sure. Right now he's wearing 10dollar sneakers .. granimals. But he does have a pair of 45 converse that he just grew out of and iI'll buy him another pair. I mean we spend like 100 dollars on our sneakers and stuff so it doesn't seem to much.
  • Generally between $25-50 per pair.  Occasionally if one of the kids needs a dressier pair that I know they'll only wear a few times I'll go for a $10-15 pair at Target. I usually wait until Stride Rite is having a promo and take both kids in to get o

Her shoes run in the 60-$100 range, with her summer sandals being cheaper around $40-$50.

  • We pay between 40 and 50 for everyday shoes that get a lot of wear but quite a bit less for shoes she wears to church for an hour a week.

OP, if your younger kid can wear them as hand-me-downs, you'll get a lot of use out of them.
