~*^*~Healthy Living Accountability Check In~*^*~

It?s Friday--time to take a look back at the week and see how we did!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

In addition to being accountable for your goals, I also want to hear one thing you learned this week, whether it?s about yourself (habits, breakthroughs, weaknesses, strengths), or about healthy living in general (Read a good book about food or nutrition? Watch a cool documentary? Interesting article online? Share it with us!).

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
fluttergirlmoonchild79: Congrats on being one month smoke-free!!!! What an accomplishment, you must be so proud of yourself. Keep it up! How did your doctors appointment go? Any ideas as to why you aren't losing weight? Have you kept up the healthy eating throughout the week? How has tracking on MFP been going? And your foot? Still sore?

Saritaota614: How did healthy eating go for the rest of the week? Were you able to get back on the diet train? Any more back sliding happen? Did you get some exercise in as well? How about the water consumption?

ashx3renee: How are you holding up love? When does your friend leave and you plan on starting up the Whole30 again? You can pick yourself back up and start again and this time you'll know how crappy you'll feel if you quit. We're here to cheer you on!

Igoo0304: How did this week go for you? Is AF gone yet? How is the new workout routine going for you? More challenging? How about eating, did you do better this week with your sodium and carbs intake?

Pink021: How are you doing with meeting your exercise goal? Were you able to make up for the 20 minute day? And how is drinking more water going?

ScarlettDahlia: How did you do with sticking to your meal plan? Were you successful? Are you still working out regularly?

LiaMadi1: How has the rest of your week gone in regards to healthy eating and working out? Did you meet your goals? Stay strong over the weekend and don't give in to temptations! You've got this! And have fun at the Bon Jovi concert, I may be ridiculously jealous.

sfortin9075: Are you still feeling motivated to start over? How did your workouts go? Are you back to where you want to be? Have you still been resisting the sweets?

buckeyebride22: How did you do with meeting your calorie goal this week? Did you and your DH make it to the gym? Are you feeling more comfortable with what to do at the gym? How has your water consumption gone this past week?

The healthy eating is going well! I'm just trying to make sure that I'm not eating the same things every day because I know I'll get bored with this "diet" fast if I do. I made new recipes for dinner every day this week (chicken pie soup, fingerling potatoes and steak...etc.)

I worked out on Monday AND Wednesday!!! Monday was at home (Jillian Michalels video) and I went to the gym on Wednesday and it actually felt really good to get back there!

This week, I learned that although I can eat healthy/work out, sometimes my weight won't budge at all and even though that sucks, I need to stick with it because the weight will come off eventually! (can you tell that I didn't get a good result on my scale this morning?! lol, trying to put it behind me and keep on being healthy)

I didn't get 3 Wii workouts in this week, only 2. But still not too bad for me. I've been doing awesome with my water intake. I have printed off a little water checklist and it keeps me motivated since I love checking things off. Smile

I haven't been adding many veggies or protein to my diet this week. I can't think of anything to eat. But I have been eating less cookies, with none yesterday. And I've been keeping up with  my Fab Ab challenge! So overall, not too bad of a week.

Good job on eating well this week! And I totally agree with needing to have variety when it comes to meals or else you get sick of it too fast. Your meals sound really good. Smile

Good job on working out twice this week and making it back to the gym! Awesome step and keep it up!

I'm sorry that you didn't get good results on your scales this morning but I love your positive attitude. You've got this.

fluttergirlmoonchild79: Congrats on being one month smoke-free!!!! What an accomplishment, you must be so proud of yourself. Keep it up! How did your doctors appointment go? Any ideas as to why you aren't losing weight? Have you kept up the healthy eating throughout the week? How has tracking on MFP been going? And your foot? Still sore?

Doctor's appointment was frustrating.  Had blood drawn to have my thyroid checked and it came back fine.  I know that's good but my Dr. basically said that if it came back normal there's nothing that can be done and I'm just someone who has a hard time losing weight.  My blood pressure came back high though so he wanted me to come back yesterday.  I had to sit in the waiting room with not one, not 2 but 4 babies.  2 of whom started crying (I quickly left to wait in the hallway). Frustrating because how is my BP going to be ok if I'm faced with that.  It came back normal though.  So no idea as to why I'm not losing any weight but DH and I are going to further re-vamp our diet this weekend.

The healthy eating has gone relatively well.  I guess last night wasn't too unhealthy but could have been better.  DH got home really late and we are low on food so it was difficult.

Foot is still hurting.  Didn't go to Zumba last night and I was itching to go.  Giving myself the weekend to rest and then if still not right I'll go to a Dr.

This week I learned on Dr. Oz that 35% of every meal you eat should be protein.  Going to try to work on that.

I'm sorry that your foot is still sore and that you couldn't go to Zumba last night. Hopefully it fixes itself over the weekend and you won't have to get checked out.

Good job on eating well and good luck tweaking your diet to have more protein! I need to do that too.

Hi Jenn!  My friend leaves on Sunday so I'll either start the Whole30 back up on Sunday or Monday.  I haven't fully decided yet. I have felt like absolute crap all week from eating like sh*t so I'm definitely ready to get back on the wagon!  I'm probably going to try to at least eat healthy this weekend, and my only "cheating" will be drinking tonight and maybe tomorrow.  I also will probably get my pizza at least once this weekend before starting the Whole30 again. lol  Wink

Great job with your water intake Jenn!  And sticking with the Fab Ab February thing!  Keep up the great work. Smile

buckeyebride22: How did you do with meeting your calorie goal this week? Did you and your DH make it to the gym? Are you feeling more comfortable with what to do at the gym? How has your water consumption gone this past week?

I do ok with my calorie goal. Not good enough. I thought I was ok and didn't log in to MFP since I worked the past two days. I drank too much soda at work. I ended up gaining .8 lbs for the week. I started to little pinterest workouts at home, but never made it to the gym. I'm going to step up my nagging to DH. I need to really work on cutting out soda and drink water.  I wish I liked crystal light or something like that.

sfortin9075: Are you still feeling motivated to start over? How did your workouts go? Are you back to where you want to be? Have you still been resisting the sweets?

Yep! Things have gone well this week-- I feel much stronger doing the old workout, which is encouraging. I'm not going to weigh myself until the end of next week-- It just seems pointless since I'm losing so slowly anyway, and I'm more concerned about the changes in measurements.  I do have to keep on top of myself to make sure that I'm eating enough-- esp since i'm starting a new job and the tendency is to skip lunch (I'm a baker, and it's pretty nonstop). Will need to plan ahead.

I'm glad that you've had a good week and are feeling stronger when doing your old workouts. That is a definite improvement over the past few weeks. I'm glad you're feeling better.

I also think it's a good idea to skip a week of weighing yourself, it's probably for the best. Good luck staying on top of eating healthy and not forgetting to skip lunch!

leopardgurl831: Did you successfully track your eating on MFP this week? Did you make it to the gym 3-4 times? Did you make it through the day without eating any of the Oreo's at work?

I have tracked everything on MFP except dinner last night.  We have soup off Skinnytaste and I didn't get a chance to determine the info from my modifications yet.  I know it wouldn't have put me over my calorie limit though.  Only made it to the gym twice so far.  DH didn't want to go last night and said we can go tonight, so I think I will make it at least 3.  No Oreo's for this girl...and they are back again today.  I will not give in!!

What I learned this week was though I though I was eating healthy I was eating too many nut, nut butters, and cheeses instead of lean meats.  This was putting me over the amount of calories I should have a day.

Good job at tracking all your foods this week! That is awesome! I love that you are sticking to your calorie goal and seeing where you need to improve. Good job. Smile I'm also super impressed with your self control when it comes to the Oreo's. Keep it up!

I hope you make it to the gym tonight and get your 3 workouts in this week. Awesome.

Hey there! I know I've been bad about checking in. Life has been crazy. In a good way, but still, crazy.

    SO.....

On the plus side, I managed to get to a yoga class this week. Woohoo! I really needed it, too. On the bad side, I haven't done much else. I did walk a lot more than usual earlier this week when I was traveling, that's gotta count for something right?

I was eating out a lot early in the week (traveling for work), but I've brought lunch every day since I've been back to work, and also (mostly) stayed away from the cadbury mini-eggs we have at home. I love those things, so this is a pretty big deal!

I've learned that just 'winging it' isn't working for me, so I did two things: fill out the rest of March with a reasonable workout calendar so I don't have to think each day about what I should do (and put it off), and also decided that since the Lululemon store in my neighbor hood just started doing weekly 3mile runs, I'm giving it a shot next Wednesday even though I've never been a group run person. Maybe it'll motivate me.

Hi!!! I was wondering where you had disappeared to. I'm glad that the crazy in your life has been good.

It sounds like you did a decent job this past week at eating healthy and getting some exercise in. I do horribly when I'm not at home, so kudos to you. And good job on resisting the mini eggs! I have no control whatsoever when it comes to those and I've been frantically searching the internet to find out if they are gluten free. I NEED some!

I think that making a workout schedule for the month is a fabulous idea. Smile

It?s Friday--time to take a look back at the week and see how we did!

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

In addition to being accountable for your goals, I also want to hear one thing you learned this week, whether it?s about yourself (habits, breakthroughs, weaknesses, strengths), or about healthy living in general (Read a good book about food or nutrition? Watch a cool documentary? Interesting article online? Share it with us!).

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Pink021: How are you doing with meeting your exercise goal? Were you able to make up for the 20 minute day? And how is drinking more water going?

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Have a great weekend, and DON?T FORGET TO LOG IN TO MFP!

    <3,
    jenn

I am kinda on track with my fitness goals, I missed Wednesday and only did 30 minutes Tuesday - so I made up 10 minutes for Tuesday today! yay! I'll have to exercise tomorrow too, but if I can do that and reach my goal I am happy!

Drinking more water isn't going great yet, but I am for sure thinking about it and purposely poured some water for lunch today :)

I don't use MFP - anyone have issues with the privacy on it? reading their privacy policy it seemed it could track a lot of what you do outside of that app? I dont' want it tracking what I do on my phone and putting up ads regarding that, bad enough the internet follows me around and trys to get me to buy stuff I look at.Any thoughts on that?

What I learned about this week was flour - I am cooking a ton more nowadays so I wanted to see if I could get a good for me flour cheaper, so I have been doing some reserach on flour.  I am going to try to buy whole wheat unbleached flour.  It is more expensive, but I can mix it 50/50 with the cheap stuff too and still get some nutrition that way (okay so if it is cookies maybe not nutrition, but not as bad for me then)

I'm glad that you're doing pretty good with your fitness goals and it seems that you have it all under control for this week. I love your motivation. Smile

Drinking more water is hard and definitely takes thought. I've been working extra hard this week to get more fluids into my body. You can do it!

I have no idea about the privacy on MFP. I don't use it on my phone. Hopefully someone else can answer your questions for you.

And you made me chuckle with your comment about healthier flour in cookies. Stick out tongue But good for you for trying to change some of your eating habits. That's a step in the right direction.

buckeyebride22: How did you do with meeting your calorie goal this week? Did you and your DH make it to the gym? Are you feeling more comfortable with what to do at the gym? How has your water consumption gone this past week?

I do ok with my calorie goal. Not good enough. I thought I was ok and didn't log in to MFP since I worked the past two days. I drank too much soda at work. I ended up gaining .8 lbs for the week. I started to little pinterest workouts at home, but never made it to the gym. I'm going to step up my nagging to DH. I need to really work on cutting out soda and drink water.  I wish I liked crystal light or something like that.

Oh my MFP nickname is mwiechs if you want to add me!

ETA:  I don't know why half of my post disappeared when I posted.

Remember that your weight can flucutate 2 lbs either way each day...so .8 may not actually be a gain.

I am also struggling to cut out pop, one thing that helps somewhat is to have juice (at least it is somewhat good for you) or tea or lemonade on hand. If you make the tea or lemonade you can control the sugar (if you use any for tea). I started out really sugary tea (I like my tea super sweet) and slowly started cutting it back. Either way drinking tea or lemonade is better than the junk in pop. :)

That's a great idea to slowly cut the sugar in your tea/lemonade back, so you wean yourself off it. (I did that with coffee)

If you want to try something that's not water but much lower in sugar/calories than soda, I like to mix a little juice with seltzer water sometimes - sort of like soda, only way healthier.  It works with pretty much any juice you like.

jenn0021: Did you get the 3 Wii workouts in this week? How is the water drinking going? Did you find more ways to add veggies and protein into your diet? Are you still sticking with the Fab Ab challenge? Are you still eating chocolate chip cookies everyday?

I didn't get 3 Wii workouts in this week, only 2. But still not too bad for me. I've been doing awesome with my water intake. I have printed off a little water checklist and it keeps me motivated since I love checking things off. Smile

I haven't been adding many veggies or protein to my diet this week. I can't think of anything to eat. But I have been eating less cookies, with none yesterday. And I've been keeping up with  my Fab Ab challenge! So overall, not too bad of a week.

2 workouts are better than none.

?No matter how slow you are going you are still lapping everyone on the couch.? I have to remember this everytime I'm in the pool <img class=" src="https://media-cache-is0.pinimg.com/192x/3b/77/9a/3b779ae4cb0f5d031affcc96e467afad.jpg" />

Yay for a check off sheet for water - fun, but I know I would never keep up with it.

I have seen you post about a diet, are you gluten free? I find lots of good recipes on pinterest - good inspiration if nothing else :)

Thank you! I know that two workouts is better than none. Smile

As for my diet, yes I am gluten-free as well as mostly dairy-free. I'm also trying to eat more local organic food and eliminate processed sugary crap.

LiaMadi1: How has the rest of your week gone in regards to healthy eating and working out? Did you meet your goals? Stay strong over the weekend and don't give in to temptations! You've got this! And have fun at the Bon Jovi concert, I may be ridiculously jealous.

I have done a pretty good job of keeping up with the healthy eating and the work outs.  I have gotten to 4 of my 5 workouts this week, so not all of the goals have been 100% but like 90% right? I would like to think so. As for my healthy eating and overall weight loss with WW..today was my first weigh in and I have lost 5.2 pounds this week! I suppose a lot of it is water weight, but I am super positive going into the weekend. Thanks for the support, Jenn!

    Hello ladies!

Overall, a good week! My sleep is still a mess, but I'm hoping to get into a good pattern this weekend. Water is going well, veggies still have some room for improvement! I want to get better about planning meals around my veg vs around my protein so that I don't always just have broccoli or spinach on the side. Today was admittedly not great food wise, very carb heavy, but still within my cals and tomorrow will be more nutritious!

I didn't do my last day of c25k today, but I did spend almost an hour shoveling so I'll count that as my workout for the day! Back on the treadmill tomorrow with an ep of Nashville waiting for me!

What I learned this  week is ts water really does make a difference in so many ways, my energy was better, and my skin is clearer. I admittedly don't love water, but I love the benefits, so bottoms up!

Sorry for the ridic quote tree. That's one of my favoriite beverage options, too! I love seltzer in any form, really, but a splash of juice or even squeezing in fresh fruit (lemon, orange) feels a little special. :-)
