Can I AW my big boy a little bit? He's looking so grown-up in this latest set of pics I shot a couple weeks ago.
Like usual, I will probably DD these in a couple days, but I just thought that smile was too cute not to share.
Doing his favorite thing, going out to the lake to feed the ducks:
Can you tell it was windy? Dixie likes to stand on her hind legs and look at the ducks too.
Me (looking unusually tired, yikes!) and my big fella!:

Re: Photo AW (Limited Time)
Thanks, guys!
@ LibberDuck - They are best friends. This boy loves his pets so much!
I think he got your great smile.
He's so grown up. Those are great pictures!

wow! so grown up and handsome!
How do you get such great pics? Hazel's a psycho and never ever stops moving and won't look at the camera unless shes on a mission to attack it. I have a good camera, so I don't know if I'm just a terrible photographer or if she's just unusually crazy.

Well, I'm no great photographer or anything, but the main advice I can give is: 1) Take lots and lots and lots of shots (I'm lucky if like a quarter of the shots I get turn out halfway decent...I might take 50 shots to get one or two this good.), 2) Give them something to do or have someone else come along to interact with them (Usually my H comes along and talks to DS and gets him smiling for me. Or we give him something to do like holding the dog's leash or feeding the ducks like we did here), and 3) Make sure you're shooting with a high enough shutter speed, so you don't get a ton of blurry shots. I tend to use a wide open aperture for portraits which helps but takes some getting used to. I'm still learning to use my speedlight.
I'd really like to take a class or something but the most I've had time for so far was just to read through some of the two peas in a bucket tutorial online and to pick my more photographically inclined friends' brains. Honestly, having someone to ask for advice has been the biggest help so far. GL!
