Husband Nesting...

So, I think my husband is nesting today.  So far he has changed ceiling light bulbs, hauled a bunch of wood, worked on our deck, painted and cleaned.  I told him that he is totally nesting today!

Anyone else have a husband who is nesting!?  I am treating him to 5 Guys tonight.  Smile

  • Mine is! Of course I think it was the fact that he watched the show "hoarders, buried alive" for the first time ever the other day at my OB appointment, LOL! Our house isn't dirty, but I told him the when I go on my cleaning rampages that is how I feel our house looks.  And then my midwife made mention of how close to the end we are, so that just kicked him into high gear, hehehe!

I am so glad too, there is stuff I have been trying so hard to get finished that he was insisting he would do for a few weeks now.
  • Yes, but then mine has nested the entire time that I have been pregnant. Literally the day I told him I was pregnant he went to Lowe's, bought paint and painted the hallway. Before I was 12 weeks pregnant, he had painted the hallway, cleaned out the spare bedroom, assembled the crib, sealed the driveway, and installed an island in the kitchen. He has painted his bathroom and painted and remodeled my bathroom. He also helped paint the nursery mural and has assembled all the nursery furniture. He is caulking the stairs right now. It has been insane.

  • Yes.  He is making me crazy.  There is dust everywhere, which is giving me a headache, and he just wants to throw away all my stuff.  So far he's packed up 28 boxes of my books and fabric to take to storage.  And guess who has to sort everything?  Me, of course.  I want some time to relax (and breathe!)  Save me from the madness!

  • Nesting DH here as well...he has: drywalled and painted a stairwell in the house that goes to the baby's room, fixed the front door lock, cleaned out the dryer vent, put shelving up in the baby's closet, cleaning every day...including cleaning out the fridge!, the list goes on. I'm grateful as all getout since I'm on modified bed rest and have lost most of my steam when I am up!

  • My DH has also been nesting since we found out. He has done everything. Everything from rearranging our kitchen cabinets to putting the furniture together. He even sorted thru all of the gifts from the shower ,washed all of the clothes and put them away!!! I just sit by and smile because the night of our shower he was putting together the PNP and says, " I know you think that I'm crazy but I just never thought I'd get to experience this for myself!!" That was enough for me, nest away!!

  • I wish. I can't get my DH to help with much. I feel like I'm nagging him to death just to take out the garbage.

  • My dh has been doing a lot but I can't blame it on nesting.  The baby shower is being held at our house and we had a couple of finishing touches to be completed from our renovations when we first bougth the house almost 4 years ago.  Baseboard needed to be nailed down, chaulked and painted and back room organized, etc. just a few odds and ends that we both put off.  Life lesson, do one room at a time with renovations and don't move on to the next until it is fully completed....  I told him (before I knew of shower date) I wanted the last little bit done before I hit 35 weeks and we both got it all done!  He was very understanding in getting it done before the shower once we found out the date.  So relieved that those few things are FINALLY done! So, I am 35 weeks tomorrow and we completed the deadline I set!! Now just to clean the house after all that.

This. I think DH has had his head in the sand about how much work there is to do and how much of it I'm physically not able to do. Although now that I'm 2 weeks away from my scheduled c-section, he's starting to pick up the pace a bit. This weekend he built the crib, took out all the trash and recycling, and did the grocery shopping. He's even asked me what else I would really like done that he can do this week. I find this humorous because I've been telling him for weeks all the things we need to get done and even made a list that's hanging on our fridge! But at least he's trying and I apprediate the help.

  • Lol mine has been! He went out and bought a new microwave and coffee pot, a rug to go under the dog crates, cleaned out the shop, got rid of an old fridge, scoured the bathroom (he doesn't want me on my knees), stocked up on cleaning supplies, wanted blinds and curtains for the other rooms and and did work in the yard. Lol when I said that he was nesting, he was like no honey just getting things we need done. Ok by me!
