DH is set on Rowan Thomas for our little boy. I really liked it at first but now I'm a bit confused because I've been finding out that people are naming their daughters Rowan.
Unisex names aren't really my favorite. I personally see this as very masculine almost warrior-esque name and not feminine at all.
What are your thoughts?

**RATE A NAME HERE!**
There was a post yesterday about a little girl named Lucas. People will use ANYTHING on a girl, so if that's tr only thing holding you back, I wouldn't let it bother me.
This, although I'm not crazy about Roman either. Ronan would be a good choice potentially.
Whew, you ladies are making me feel better already! I don't necessarily hate that it can be used on a girl but I'd rather it be tom-boyish name for a girl versus giving my son an oddly feminine name.
I see Rowan as a boy's, maybe Rowen as a girl's name? I think Brooke Shields named her daughter Rowan so maybe that's the connection people make.
There's also Roan.
I had never heard the name until I worked with a woman named Rowan (currently 35 years old).
Historically it is a male name.
It's a boy's name, but I've seen it on girl's a lot lately. It's a great name! DH and I loved it, but decided we liked Roman better for our LO. We get lots of compliments on how it's a strong name, and I think it has less of a chance of being used for a girl.
But like PPs said, there have been girls named Lucas and Michael recently, so who knows. I don't think you can go wrong with Rowan, Ronan or Roman.
Use the name that you and your DH chose. You can't help that parents are giving their girls masculine names.
It doesn't sound feminine to me at all.
It's a boy name.
Even if people "know someone who named their daughter ___", it's still a boy name someone used on a girl.
