March 2013 Moms

Good luck with Nemo!!

I just wanted to send some positive vibes to those of you in the Northeast getting ready for the blizzard. I went through the "Snowmageddon" of 2010 in the DC area (up to 38 inches!) and that was a crazy surreal experience. I can't imagine nearing my due date in that kind of weather. Hopefully you can all bunker down somewhere safe and cozy, and no labor drama over the weekend. Thinking of you! Smile

  • We will be getting hit. I'm preparing things now for any power outages. Last year during the October storm we were out for eight days. I am not taking my chances!

  • Thanks!  I am so happy to be working from home today! :) The snow looks pretty when you don't have to go out there.

  • Thanks! It's just now starting up here in Boston.

My family is soooo worried I'll go into labor early during the peak of it. DH and I agreed that if for any reason I need to go to the hospital, we call an ambulance instead of him driving us. But let's hope none of that happens, right?

  • Thank you! And hang in there Boston! You're getting it the worst.

More worried about the slush freezing and creating a layer of ice under the snow rather than the snow itself.

On a positive note my grocery store is opening tomorrow for the first time since Sandy hit in October! Even in the blizzard! So sososo excited!

  • Thanks! DH worked a double last night so that he wouldn't have to go out in the storm tonight. I also changed my doctor's appointment to earlier in the day, so now we can relax at home for the rest of the day.

I opened up all of the curtains so that I can watch it snow, and I'm all set with some good treats for this weekend. I think I'm going to make chicken and dumplings for dinner, and I have pillsbury cookie dough so I can make fresh baked cookies for dessert. I also have some fancy hot chocolate mix, so that I can make something warm for DH after he shovels the driveway!

  • DH coming home earlier so we can go grocery shopping and prepare for the weekend. Hopefully we wont lose power, because that is the worse! If we have power at least we can snuggle up on the couch and watch movies....

Just hope I don't go into labor!

  • I was in DC also! Thoughts and prayers are with you ladies up north.... Especially as we are nearing our due dates!

  • Good luck and stay safe ladies!  I'll be thinking of you all and hoping that nothing major happens over the weekend during this storm.
