aden + anais swaddles

hey check out this aden and anais article about the differences between the swaddles. I had no idea! Does anyone have BOTH kinds? Do you really tell a difference?

There's no link, but maybe that's because I'm bumping from my phone. What's the difference?

Ok. I asked because I do have both the boutique line and some that I got from Target. There is definitely a difference that is noticeable, and I think it's well worth the money to invest in the boutique ones. The size actually makes a difference in how long you can swaddle, and the fabric is higher quality. I just did the laundry a couple of weeks ago in preparation for this baby, and I easily picked out the boutique A and A blankets from the Target ones. I have 4 boutique and 6 Target four of the Target ones are girly and we are Team Green this time. I also only bought a few things for this baby... But a set of 4 boutique A and As in a genderneutral print made the list!

I just thought there was a difference in size.  Good to know.   I received a set from Buy Buy Baby but maybe I'll order the boutique one (I believe they're on sale on Gilt.com but it's not a huge discount...prob cheaper on Amazon).

Too funny...It was on our short list too.  However, it wasn't because I wanted gender neutral prints, but because one DD won't give up any of the A and A blankets we already have!

I have both, but Im a ftm so haven't tried them yet. The biggest difference to me seemed like size.

So on that link, they suggested getting the boutique ones cheaper on Amazon, but I noticed you have to read the fine print. The cheaper ones that I saw were the smaller size like they sell at Target, or they appear cheaper but have fewer in the pack.

This. I bought one off Amazon, 30 for 4 and they are not the boutique kind. Thx for this post, I didn't know there was a difference. Sheesh! Now I'm mad bc I used a 20 pct off coupon on it! Maybe I'll keep it for nursing covers and be sure I get the better kind for swaddling.

You know what? I got the cheaper kind and already washed them, and they are so soft and luxurious that I wouldn't bother buying the more expensive ones.  By the time baby needs those extra few inches to swaddle, she should be out of the swaddling phase anyway. :)

I thought everyone knew the Aden line was their "budget" line?

I just looked again (using the link) because I'm about to order some and the cheaper ones  in the $35 range are in fact 47x 47.   I found a few.  Maybe you were looking at ones from independent dealers?

I got the cheaper ones as a gift but when I washed them although they were soft, they seemed very "linty". So I wasnt too please but I brought a few of the organic muslin ones myself and there is a HUGE difference! Not just the size but they are super soft and no lint.

I had read not to get the Target version so I bought the ones from BBB thinking I was in the clear. Oh well.

FWIW, we still used our Target ones a lot for stroller rides, burping, feeding, etc. It's just that having both has made me realize how much nicer the boutique ones are. The Up Up and Away print is part of the 15 off Amazon Mom promotion, so I used my registry discount plus the 15 to buy the those for the gender neutral pattern I reference above.
