I had my son by CS in October because he was breech. Even though I plan to wait the recommended amount of time before trying for #2, my doctor has already told me I will need to find a new practice because they absolutely do not do VBAC. I am having a hard time finding any leads for doctors/midwives who will do a VBAC in the Hartford/Springfield area! Does anyone have any resources I could check out to find someone or, even better, have personal recommendations of doctors/midwives you have used for a successful VBAC? Thanks in advance, I can't believe how controversial it is to VBAC!
I would first look to see if there is a local ICAN chapter that you can contact. They usually have good resources on VBAC friendly OBs and MWs.
I would also suggest that you look at the CT/MA/RI board on Mothering.com (listed under forums-->finding your tribe). They will often have posts of women looking for a VBAC friendly provider.
I am in the Hartford area and am planning on a vbac with the most amazing doctor who is in Farmington, CT and I will be delivering at St. Francis hospital in Hartford. We are moving in 2 weeks to NJ and I will be traveling all the way to CT for my appointments and birth because I am so positive about the vbac and this doctor. Let me know if you'd like her information!
