Two Under 2

Diaper Bag for 2?

My diaper bag is already filled to the max with just my son. I have a Coach baby bag tote. What diaper bag do you use that fits everything for 2 kids? I'm thinking two sets of diapers, larger wipe container, sippy cup and bottles, toys for both, change of clothes for both, snacks, small first aid kit and there are always other misc items. I also put my wallet in my diaper bag currently because carrying around two bags is crazy.

Re: Diaper Bag for 2?

  • Well I guess it depends where you're headed with all that stuff. I find that if I just take a diaper, wipes and maybe a toy or two, I'm good most of the time. Actually, I don't carry diapers anymore bc I don't really change him while we're out. I carry a purse, not even a big one. Anything else we need, stays in the car in a bag and I keep it stocked with diapers and stuff i can grab and throw in the bottom of the stroller. I'll change a poopy diaper in the car if necessary, but honestly, that's just our cue to go home. I'll take a snack to the grocery store occassionally. Or sometimes a drink of water if I remember. I just keep it simple and haven't had any big regrets so far!

  • We are getting the Ju Ju Be BFF diaper bag. If you buy it at buybuybaby or bed bath and beyond you can use a 20 percent off coupon since its definitely pricy, at least way more than I paid for my first!

  • I love my OiOi bags since they don't look like a diaper bag & the quality on them is great.  I get complements on my "purse" all the time.  I have 2 right now (both are fine I just got tired of carrying the 1st one) and I'm planning on getting this bigger one for 2U2. Plenty of pockets, wipes clean easily, and I haven't regularly carried a purse since DS was born. :)

  • I have a Kate Spade and a Petunia Pickle Bottom. I use the KS mostly. I like that it has a separation in the middle so I can make one side for each child and I know where their stuff is. It is full, but like you I carry everything you can imagine in it. I also put my wallet, cell, and makeup bag so I don't have to carry my purse too. It all fits fine. I don't carry bottle because my DD only bf, but I do have a sippy cup for my DS.

  • I love my Skip Hop Bento bag.  It has insulated zippered pockets for two bottles/sippy cups and a removable cooler that fits into its own pocket accessible from the outside of the bag.  DS1 has type 1 diabetes, so we often have to carry along his meter, insulin, fast acting carbs in case of lows, and everything else that comes along with it in addition to the regular 2u2 items and I have room for it all.  I also like that it looks gender-neutral so DS doesn't get embarrassed carrying it.

  • Ju Ju Be Be Prepared. I'm an overpacker though. I like the BFF but there's no way it would fit everything I would need. I also used a Coach diaper bag that was full from DD.

  • I use a backpack, and it rocks! It has lots of pockets and I can organize everything for each kid and I have a pocket all to myself. It's also nice that I'm able to have both hands to wrangle the boys. I find most traditional single strap bags don't allow me to bend over without it flinging around to the front.

I have both the Be Prepared and BFF.  I love them Be Prepared for all day trips but there's now way I want to be toting it around to restaurants and on errands so I also got the BFF for that.  I really love Jujube bags because they have a ton of pockets and you can wash them.  I couldn't live with a bag I couldn't wash.

I think it helps to leave what you can in the car and just carry in your bag what you really need to access.  For example, I keep spare clothes in the car instead of in the diaper bag.  I also carry a couple diapers for each but keep extras in the car too.

  • I used a vera bradley baby bag up until recently. But I always keep an extra smaller diaper bag in the car with extra diapers, wipes, change of clothes and whatever miscl crap I can fit in it.
