Middle Name Help

So my one grandma, my mom and I all have the same middle name, and its actually my other Grandma's first name..... Marie. Simple enough middle name and I don't mind it but we are naming DD Ava slightly after my other grandma who is Eva Marie. I am not a HUGE fan of Ava Marie because of Ave Maria.....

The whole Ave Maria thing aside, if you were me would you feel like you had to use Marie for her middle name with the long line of family having it as their middle name?

AND if we don't use Marie, I don't really have any other ideas on what I would like to use instead.... Catherine could be an option as that is MIL's first name but DS is 100% named after DHs family and I would rather not name this one after his side again (I know horrible of me to say.....)

Catherine is very pretty and flows well with Ava. What other family names are on your side? What is your mom's first name? What about maiden names in your family?

What about using you or your mom's first name? I honestly wouldn't have put  "Ava Marie" and "Ave Maria" together b/c the pronunciation is so different.

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34

My mom's first name is Karen which I don't think works so well with Ava.

My maiden name with my married name don't go so well together. My maiden name was an animal and my current last name is hunt.... so they don't work so well together :):)

There aren't a lot of other good names on my family to use.....

Actually, I think Ava Karen is nice. What is your first name?

Nearly every girl in my family has the middle name "Marie" (100% Italian!) While I don't think it's "required", I like Ava Marie and actually didn't think about "Ave Maria" until you mentioned it.

    Catherine is nice too!

I wouldn't have put this together either. While you shouldn't feel pressured to use it, I think it's a nice idea if that many of you have it. We're actually using Marie too, but only DH's grandma had the name. We wanted a family name for the middle name, and Marie sounded the best... not to mention our first name choice is masculine so we wanted to make her middle name more feminine. Otherwise I would've chosen my middle name which is Rae.

Ava Marie is pretty. That can be a tough situation. Does your family talk about carrying on the name?

My husband is Allen Lawrence the III, but neither he nor I wanted to have an Allen Lawrence the IV. We used his middle name and our son's name is Micah Allen.

     Good luck!

P.S. I am thinking of using Ava Jean if I ever have a little girl.

I'm a huge sucker for family tradition, so I would feel the need to use Marie.  My mother, her mom, her grandma, and great-grandma all have the same middle name.  My mother was supposed to name her oldest daughter following the tradition and decided against it.  My older sister and I both ended up naming our oldest daughters with the middle name because we wanted to carry the tradition on.  Things like that are so special.

I wouldn't worry about Ava Marie.  People rarely go by their first and middle names together.

I love Rae as a middle name. My sister's middle name is Rae after my grandpa!

I do also like the tradition and think it would be nice. I am not sure how I got the Ave Maria thing stuck in my head! And VERY true you rarely use first and middle names together....

I think I will stick with Ava Marie and call it her name :) Thanks for the advice! I think I just need to "worry" about something :)
