How My Body Failed Me.

Ladies let me give you some advice from a mother of a toddler. Formula feed. Here is the reason why:

I always dreamed of having a daughter will a full head of lucious hair. I also always dreamed of breastfeeding. When she was born she had a good amount of hair and I was happy. I started breastfeeding and slowly her hair started falling out. Now at age 2 she has virtually no hair and the reason is because I breastfed! All of my friend who formula fed their babies now have children with beautiful, full heads of hair! I"m so jealous. My daughter is always mistaken for a boy because of her lack of hair. So do your kids a favor and go with formula. They will thank you some day.

Re: How My Body Failed Me.

  • Do you have any reason to believe that breast feeding caused her to have less hair?

Every baby is different. My niece is formula fed and she has almost no hair (turning 2 in July). My cousin's baby is breastfed and has tons of hair (also turning 2 in July).

  • This is BS.

Edit: DD's hair was fine during the time I was able to BF. BF most likely had nothing to do with hair loss.

I formula fed DD [after BF didnt work out] and her hair is fine. I would look into a vitamin supplement during BF if this were happening to my new LO.

Good job promoting another mommy war though.

I very much doubt that bf has anything to do with your daughters hair loss. Take her to the doctor, that isn't normal. *koffs* I call MUD.

  • I was formula fed and didn't have hair until I was 3.
  • Is 100% true!! On the days that I would breast feed I noticed ds's hair was thinner, but his buttcrack hair was thicker.  When I would leave him with my mom to ff, it was the reverse!

  • I really really wanna cuss at you. I breastfed for 6 mos. and yes my baby was bald until he was 18 mos. but it has NOTHING to do with breastfeeding. I also think bald is beautiful and you are an idiot.

  • HAHA, I'm dying over this.  A lot of babies go bald anyways.  #1 lost a lot of hair naturally, whatever it's long and lush now.  And #2 lost a ton where his head rubbed against the mattress/bouncer/carseat/etc.

Awesome, I nominate for one of the best posts ever.

  • Umm, you are a selfish idiot. Babies are beautiful with hair or without! And breastfeeding is WAY healthier for the baby! Jesus...

  • is no one going to point out how this mom seems to think that the amount of hair on her babies head is more important than the health of her baby??? Every doctor will tell you that breast is best . If it is between hair and health I am taking a healthy baby ANY DAY. I BF my daughter for 10 months and she had a head full of hair the whole time! she is two and has hair past her shoulder blades.  If its such a problem get some headbands!
  • You're kidding, right?
  • Dear Diary, I'm really bored today. How much of an idiot can I be? I know, I'll blame my bald baby on breastfeeding ... That'll help a lot of women, I'm sure! Signed, Dumbass.

We lost our first (EDD 07/23/12) after finding out at 12 weeks there was no longer a heartbeat. Our rainbow was born 05/22/13 and was worth all we went through.

“So can you understand? Why I want a daughter while I’m still young? I wanna hold her hand and show her some beauty before all this damage is done. But if it’s too much to ask, it’s too much to ask … Then send me a son.” – Arcade Fire
  • Man, that's a huge bummer. A bald baby? Ugh.

My only recommendation is to rub your baby's head every evening for good luck.

Sorry you're dealing with a bald baby.

    Dear Dumb@ss,

Please don't do that. Seriously. I'm begging you. I'm made of paper and cardboard and I have more sense than that.

    Love,
