I see my therapist once a week. She has been incredibly supportive to me and has really helped me cope with the train wreck of emotions that come with a loss.

I'm going now and have for different reasons in the past. This is the first time I have gone since I started my entire infertility issues. She isn't the best in the world and tells me lots of personal stories, which I find strange, but I feel better going to someone that I can talk about just me and how I am feeling and not feel guilty if I don't then have to listen to stories about work issues or worse baby troubles, baby not sleeping or pg friend can't get comfortable enough to sleep, like you do with friends. She also makes me and tells me how normal my feelings are and that I'm allowed to mourn this long and it isn't bad. She helps me think ahead and ways to deal with future doctor appointments. If you decide to go, you may need to try out a few people until you find someone you are comfortable with otherwise you won't get anything out of it! GL

I personally have not gone to counseling, however I have seriously thought about going. I thought I would be okay just with confiding in friends and family; however there are times when I feel no one really gets how devasting this is. Since it's been about 6 weeks since I lost my baby, many people seem to have forgotten or moved on. I have not.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of...that everyone will move on (which is fine) but I'll still be heartbroken for months. People have been checking in on me and I know that will eventually end so I'm going to talk to my doctor and figure out if there's someone I can talk to about what is going on.

I do. I actually started going because of my IF dx, she was the first person I told after DH about the pregnancy. I have found it to be very helpful, although like pp mentioned you may have to go to more than one to find a good fit.

A stowaway on board!
I just started going 2 weeks ago.
I have gone in the past for other reasons. Therapy is always good, as long as you feel comfortable with the person u see... I let everything out when I go and it feels good to have someone there to listen and give you advise and tell you that what u feel is normal
I've gone in the past after there was a fire in my house and I've considered going again. I wish there was a pregnancy loss support group in my area, but there isn't.

Re: Anyone go to counseling?
I haven't been offered counseling for this m/c but did have counseling after my c/s which was infected and had many complications.
It really helped me and I learned I had PTSD, it was so helpful in processing my feelings. I think counseling is worth it.
