Do you test out your trigger?

For those of you that have or will have a trigger shot, do you POAS to test when the trigger is out of your system? Why or why not?

I haven't in the past but I'm considering it for this cycle. Just wanted to see what others are doing.

Re: Do you test out your trigger?

  • I did the last 2 times. I liked knowing when it was gone so that if i got an early BFP I knew it couldn't be the trigger.

  • I never have. Both BFPs were on 13 dpo, so I didn't worry about false positives, and anything earlier is usually negative, so I wait it out.

18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

  • I did for most of my cycles but didn't for this one.  I found that I over analyzed each month about squintable tests (as I am not sure that mine really fully went negative).  This cycle was my BFP and I tested on 11dpo and it was clear enough to me that it was not like a typical squintable test I would have had on 11dpo.
  • Thanks ladies.

I POASed at 11dpo after both IUIs with mixes results the first test is positive and then i take another a few hours later and it's negative. I'm starting to think the trigger is still in my system at 11dpo so maybe testing out the trigger would ease my mind. But then i don't want to over analyze everything.

  • No. I just want wait. If I were to POAS early and get negative i would wonder if it was too early. And I am a little pessimistic so I never want the bad news. For me if I Poas early and it is negative and then I need to wait another four days for period it is depressing.

  • I don't.  I typically don't get a BFP until at least 14DPO so by then the trigger should be out of my system.  Plus, like KK said, I get too depressed when I get a negative.
  • I never did, but this month I did because I got a huge pack of Wonfos delivered.  I liked knowing when the trigger was out of my system.

How many days did it take?
