Mat leave ?

I know we get 4 weeks before and 18 after I was due on 11/22 with a return date of 4/1
I had my baby a week early on 11/17 and HR is saying I have to return 3/25 now. I was already out of work using my 4 weeks before but why would my return date change?

    Only thing I can think of is the time after starts with the birth of the child. So its 18 weeks from the 25th..

    I agree, it sounds like the 18 weeks after is from the deliver date.

    However, I was told I only get 2 weeks before and 6 weeks after in NJ...?

    I think 18 is correct - its 12 weeks of state Family Leave and then 6 weeks of Federal Family leave.

    Federal leave is 12 weeks total.  Nj can give up to 4 weeks prior, which if you took it gives you 8 weeks of FMLA left after a,d then you get an extra 6 from njfmla.

    so, because you used the full 4 weeks before that ate away at the 12 weeks you get after.  Yes, they are counting from the date you had your baby.
