Trying to Get Pregnant

Back in action and GTKY

I am all better after three months and four cycles of being out of the game due to unspecified vaginitis.  It really sucked.  But now I am back.  Blog has been updated in case anyone is interested in the story.  I ordered TCOYF yesterday.  After all this time lost, I am NOT playing around anymore!

Since I have missed you guys so much, here is a GTKY for you:

I am a music teacher and my husband is a music therapist.  We love our work and also perform in a jazz duo together quite frequently.  What do you and your partner do for work and is it what you always wanted to do (or at least some form of what you always wanted to do)?

  • Welcome back and good luck!

I'm a parole and probation officer and my husband works for an equipment rental place. Neither of us are in our dream jobs. My calling has something to do with animals, I just can't figure out how to execute it. There are perks to my job though! Hubby just wants to move up in the company and is working very hard to make that happen.

  • Welcome back!

I work in banking and hoping to move to mortgages. My husband is a mechanical engineer and designs instruments for spinal surgeries, which he loves. My dream would be to own and operate a funeral home, but that's not going to happen.

  • Glad things are better for you.

I'm a teller and H is a foreman.  I have a few more semesters in college, but I'm looking at becoming a lab tech.  I hate what I do now so that's the reason for going back to school, H's job pays well and he enjoys it for the most part.

  • Good luck!

I'm a front desk manager at a hotel, which is the right industry, wrong position. Eventually I'd like to own my own B&B. DH is a supervisor in a company that is subcontractor for Charter. I can see him having longevity with this company and it's a good fit for him.

  • I'm sorry you went through that but glad you're better! But welcome back and hope you're not here too long! ;

I'm a cake decorator at a grocery store and dh is second in charge at Walmart. He loves his job and wants to go corporate. So an eventual move to Arkansas is in my future! I hate my job. Well, I like the decorating, just not where I'm at. I'd love to own my own bakery though.

  • Wow!  I just read through your blog and I'm sorry you went through all of that!

I think it's awesome the Nutritional Therapy is working for you.  I really believe that diet plays a big roll in our overall health.  It was inspiring to read how it's improved your life!

  • Thanks kali!  It is truly amazing how little we consider nutrition in our lives--and like I said in my blog, I thought I already had a good diet!  I mean, I did for the most part, but I had to do stuff I never would have considered.

  • Welcome back!!
I'm a dental assistant. I love my job and only working 4 days a week is a perk. I would love to manage a dental practice later on. DH is a plumber, but he's currently in the warehouse instead of the field. He likes his job, but his dream job is to run a turkey farm. He grew up on and still helps on his parents cattle farm. I guess farming is his passion. We're hoping to get started on his dream in January!

  • Welcome back and good luck!

DH is a procurement specialist and manager for an ATM company.  I am a full time student currently working towards my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Ed.  I got a late start on college, but better late than never!

  • Welcome back and glad you're doing better now!!

My FI and I are both in grocery stores right now. It's definitely not where I saw myself going, but I do enjoy it and the flexibility of it. I have a bachelors in psychology but I don't think I want to do counseling after all so I haven't gone to grad school.

DH and I work at the same company and we both work on internal process improvement, him for engineering and me for manufacturing business processes. We actually work together quite a bit. I never would have picked this out as a dream job and didn't think we would live close to my family, but we are very happy!

  • I'm glad you're doing better! Welcome back and GL!

I work as a Project Coordinator at a non-profit org which is not what I wanted to do since it's just a job (a good job, but just a job). I have a degree in Psychology and had no idea what I wanted to do anyway so I'm not complaining.  DH is high up in management in a global shipping company.  He started working there 15 years ago driving trucks and has worked his way up the line almost to the top. I am so proud of him and am very grateful that when we have kids this will enable me to be a SAHM. I've never known what I wanted to do for a career but I've always known I wanted to be a mom. FX that that will be my "career".

  • I read your blog too omg I am so sorry you had to go through all that. Im glad you didn't give up. Almost 4 years ago I bled for almost 7 1/2 months straight no in between periods it was a horrible experience similar to yours constant pain and bleeding non stop. Hope your stay is short =D

I will be 32 in March DH turns 34 in July.

DH: Works for Coca Cola as a reset person, he goes in and resets gas stations and grocery stores to make it brand flow. He doesn't like it very much and wants to do something else but until he figures out what to do with his G.I Bill hes stuck doing it.

Me: I work with my Mom, shortly after we moved back home to Ca from Tx one of the managers had to quit and they fired the book keeper so now we go between the store and main office. Since Mom doesn't know much about computers I am also Office tech support lol. Our boss owns a winery and Organic Herb Farm so I do the Invoices for that and the winery. Id like to do something else, Id love to get into something in the bank with loans or Dispatch for the police dept. When I was a little girl I wanted to be a police officer or firewoman but since having Asthma killed my lungs pretty much I can't run far. There are days I miss DH being in the Air Force as it had given me the chance to stay at home which Id love to be a SAHM but with the current cost of living here that is not possible.

Me: 31 DH: 33 Married : 12 Years going on 16 years together TTC since 9/2001 11/2012 100 MG Clomid 12/2012 200 MG Clomid: IUI 12/26 2 Week Wait Praying for a miracle
  • Welcome back!

I coach gymnastics and dh works in the lab at a plastic plant. I love what I do, but I recently graduated college and hope to find a special education teaching position. Dh likes his job enough, but his real passion is writing which he does on the side.

I'm an Early Childhood Educator; right now I am teaching preschool, but I'd love to get into the school board and teach full-day Kindergarten. I've considered going back to school to get my B.Ed and teach K-3, but we can't afford it right now.

My husband manages a record store. He love the music and people but can't stand the job itself, so is looking for something else. He is also considering going back to school, probably for more business courses (he took music business management), or advertising.

I feel the same way. I definitely am not working at my dream job, but it will enable me to be a better mom as it is strictly 9-5 and very family friendly. I have a degree in Psych too.

I am a paralegal for a divorce lawyer (she also practices estate and estate planning law). DH is an electrician. When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher but loved Psychology so much that I majored in it. I would love to be a registered psychologist someday, but I'm not interested in going back to school right now (which I would have to do to work in the field).
