MN for Natalia or Patrick

Not that hubby knows this but I'm claiming dibs on naming our 2nd child Stick out tongue

What do we think of:

Patrick John? (John after my Dad)

Natalia Grace/Rose?

I'm not keen on a long MN and our DD1 is Lily Kate.

I love family names as mns, so thumbs up to John.

Unless you have a grandma named Rose or Grace, I think they're boring. It seems like every other girl has one of these as a mn. How about Pearl, June, Wren, Ivy, Beth, Anne, or Jean?

My thoughts exactly on Rose or Grace, my Grandmother (who died when Mum was 15) is Grace, but I don't feel a connection, as awful as that sounds. They just sound boring as middle names.

Patrick John is such a solid name. I really like it!

I love Natalia, but I'm not much for Grace or Rose. I feel like everyone uses Grace or Rose as a feminine MN.

When you hear someone refer to him this way firmly say, "His name is Patrick, we are not using a nickname". Then smile.

Of course, that's only going to work until he can talk or goes to school. He may decide that he likes being called Pat or Rick (or Spiderman). My parents named me Paula Grace and I've gone by Gracie since 1st grade. I always hated Paula for some reason. It's still my legal name, but I don't use it. I use Grace for everything, even used it for my marriage vows.

Ultimately nicknames are up to him. So, if there's a nickname you don't like than don't use that name.
