Anyone dealing w a corn allergy? Dd is confirmed allergic to dairy, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts and some types of fish. Even w all those gone, her eczema is still here. Better than before, but still here and I'm tired of seeing her itching all the time. I'm suspecting corn just bc it's in so many things. Considering a month long period of cutting it out but did some research and got way overwhelmed. Should I do the trial or just go get tested even tho those results may not be reliable? I'm so sick and tired of this food allergy world: Any thoughts/advice appreciated.
I personally would probably get my LO tested and even if it came back negative still cut it just to see what happens. In fact, I would probably take her off all of the top 8 and systematically add them back in one by one to see what she reacts to. Soy is probably a more likely culprit than corn and it is also in everything.
I am allergic to corn, and yes, it is a hard one. It did, however, show up on my blood test, so I wonder if your daughter may be allergic to something else.
For example, when I was a kid, I had REALLY bad eczema. I had to switch laundry detergents, not use dryer sheets, found out I was allergic to blue dye. Also, I was sensitive to cotton. Oh and I was allergic to cats and dogs, and my parents had one of each. Once we got rid of all of the above, my skin problems stopped.
You may want to explore all the other things in her environment other than food. For instance, do you have animals? What about what you use for laundry? You may want to see what materials her clothing is made of, and switch them around to try and figure out if anything will make her rash stop.

Good luck.
