Re: Green poop!!???

  • It's normal to have green poop once in a while. If it lasts a few days or baby is really fussy or gassy, be concerned.

  • My LO had a lot of green poop when he was about 6 weeks or so, and that I think was due to a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance - now when he gets it it's in direct relation to the amount of dairy I eat (which is a shame, I love dairy, but if I eat more than one slice of cheese a day then he gets green poops).  My pedi said that it's nothing to worry about as long as it's not red or black.

  • Green poop can also be an intolerance to anything not just dairy. Usually though it's from having an abundance of something. If you're eating a ton of one item try cutting back if it continues. Green poop here and there is normal though

  • We had green poop for the first month once or twice a day sometimes. I did have oversupply. I wasn't concerned because baby was happy and active, sleeping fine, diaper output was normal, and weight gain seemed fine.
