First Timer with questions :)

Soo I just found out I'm pregnant! Couldn't be more excited but I don't know how far along I am since I'm not regular... My best guess, with the help of a online calculator, for a due date is July 4th! I've only told one friend so far and she said I needed to go to an obgyn but I was wondering if everyone has to or if I can just get a Dr. appt? Also, I made a cool baby ticker thing on here but how can I make it show up on my post?? Thanks for any comments or tips :) I'm learnin here...

Congratulations!  I do think that going to an OBGYN is probably the best thing to do. Their whole specialty is pregnancy and childbirth so you'll be in the best of hands.  But research which doctor you would like the best and interview them before.  Good luck!

For your pregnancy you typically want an OB or OB/GYN since they specialize in pregnancy childbirth. Some family doctors will also deliver babies etc but an OB has really delivered a million and knows the ins and outs of pregnancy like nobody else.

    This!!

As for the ticker, once you make the ticker it will generate a code that you need to copy and then paste into your siggy. If you don't know how to get to that, click on "my bump" (up on the top left) and then click on "edit my avatar and sig", scroll down to the box that says "my forum signatures" and paste the code in there and save. Hope that helps!

OB/GYN, Midwife, and some family practice doctors all work in the birth field of medicine.  Midwives (and some family practice drs.) are specialists in normal low-risk pregnancies and births.  OB/GYNs specialize in the pathology of pregnancy and birth and are trained surgeons. Both are viable options dependent upon the type of care you are looking to receive.

Yes, you need to set up an appt with an OBGYN. Usually they won't see you until your 6weeks at the earliest. Welcome and congrats!
