Every time i change Kylie she wants to flip to her tummy. It is making diaper change time a nightmare!! Especially the poop diapers! Any helpful tips or advice on how to fix this!!
I give her toys or things to keep her busy. We have two toys that she only gets during diaper changes. I also let her play with the comb and brush, which she loves. She'll also play with the nose bulb. Basically anything that she's never played with before keeps her happy.
I also give him a toy- I have a couple that are specifically just for diaper changes- ones that can easily be washed, since he has a habit of flinging them around and sometimes hit the poopy areas!
I was actually thinking about posting this question too! So funny how all of the April babies are doing this...I guess they plan it that way
Diaper/clothes changes have been horrible here for about the last week, they usually end up with me holding DS by the leg in the air lol. I moved them to the floor so he can't fall, and just hold him down real good. He cries and screams and wriggles but sometimes SOMETIMES, I can distract him with a toy. Hopefully this is just a phase!
DS has been grabbing his junk as soon as the diaper comes off...which is a pain for the poopy diapers because his hand goes right in his mouth, so I'm trying to baby wipe his butt and hands at the same time.......!!!!!
DD tries this every time too. I usually make funny noises and move my face closer to hers at the same time. It's hard to explain, but it usually keeps her attention for long enough for me to change her. Or I start singing her a song (like Twinkle Twinkle). That distracts her for a few seconds. lol
I feel like I'm changing an alligators diaper for the past few months. I give him something to hold and a firm grip. Sometimes I finish changing him just add he is on all 4s.
Re: Flipping Baby during Diaper Change!
A firm grip.
I try giving DD a toy. It has ~45% success rate.

For dirty diapers I have everything ready in advance, change on floor with a blanket laid out, hand him a toy and work as quick as possible.

I let him hold a clean diaper and that gives me enough time to change him.
