Nails

How often do you cut LO nails?
This girls nails grow like weeds and I HATE cutting them. I cut them twice a week.

Re: Nails

  • Our pedi said no cutting til 3 months do I file them every few days.
  • I don't cut my LO's, don't need too. BUT, I think the pedi office should offer to do it for like 5, like at the vet's office.

  • About twice a week. I just cut the edge and peel them.

  • I cut Keith's once a week. I do it while he is nursing so he is way relaxed and doesn't squirm.

I will be doing this from now on! Great idea.

My pedi said cutting and filing were both fine but not to bite them off.

I asked our pedi to do it once and she said "No way! That's all you!" I was bummed. Lol

  • I try to file them about 2x a week, but LO hates it screams, cries and fusses. I think I need to start cutting them b/c trying to hold him still long enough for me to file all 10 nails is almost impossible and I they grow quick enough/ long enough that I am not as afraid anymore of cutting more then just his nails.

  • I just use a nail file because my DD's nails are so brittle still.  It's a lot easier to do it while they are asleep in your arms.  Plus you can use one of your nail files to do it, and you don't have to buy anything additional.

I do it while nursing too, ever since DD stopped napping really soundly.

  • I cut the edge for really, long ones, and file to be shorter. Once or twice a week.

  • I don't cut them - only file. And they are still sharp!

  • For a while I was doing it every other day cause they'd grow super fast. Now he hates getting his nails cut so I attempt it at least twice a week.

We cut them once a week! They grow real fast so we can't wait much longer than that.

  • I cut them about twice a week. Sometimes every second day. Her nails are sharp and she cuts me when she nurses not to mention her face

  • I cut DS's nails about once per week. I wait and do it when he is sleeping so he can't try to fight me, makes it much easier.
