I have been eating horribly lately, and it is starting to show. I feel disgusting and need to change my habits...not only for me but the baby. I have been eating whatever sounds good because of nausea. I am starting to feel a bit better (knock on wood) so trying to think of healthier snack and meal options. I think it has been ever harder because I had done weight watchers and lost quite a bit of weight, but now feel like it is piling back on.
So, what do you eat for snacks and meals? I am not a big fish person and grilled chicken totally grosses me out right now, just fyi. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Re: Snack and Meal Ideas?

well for snacks I keep "junk food" around ONLY for hubbys lunch so I know I can not eat it. Now for me I keep plenty of yogurt, the only kind I can stand is Activia, I also have plenty of mixed fresh vegies clean and in the fridge, bananas, oranges, apples,
meals... that is a tough one. for breakfast I am making a fruit smoothie ( 1 cup fresh frozen fruit, 1 cup skim milk and 1/2 of a banana. and a hard boiled egg (not int he smoothie of course... giggle)
on the weekends I do splurge and make waffles and eggs
lunch.. is light as well half of a ham, or turkey or roast beef sandwich, small handfull of baked chips, some raw vegies and a glass of OJ or 100% juice.
Dinner is bigger since my husband is home and he needs a good balanced meal so I make either:
spaghetti and garlic bread,
or BBQ chicken twice baked potatoes and a vegetable,
or pizza,
or homemade beef (or chicken) and noodles mashed potatoes and vegetable,
or homemade garlic parmessan chicken mashed potatoes and vegie,
or homemade chili
or soup and grilled cheese
or bratwurst and fried potatoes and vegie
I hope this helps.. I know it can be hard especially if you dont particularily want to eat but still need to fix something for the rest of the family. My husband is pretty good about understanding. I also keep plenty of "take out of freezer and throw in the oven" foods for those days that food repulses me.
I'm exactly like you (kinda wild). Lately, fruit and cheeses have been pretty good to me (only the cheese we're allowed to eat). PB&J on whole wheat, soups, and cereal.
Good luck!
Thanks for all of the ideas ladies! I appreciate it. I plan on doing a good grocery shopping tomorrow (it's been a while). I will add these suggestions to my lists!
Thanks for the understanding as well. I know I am not alone!

i've decided to screw "meals" and just snack all day long. as soon as i get hungry, my nausea is with me for the rest of the day and wont go away. I have to eat.
what's helped me lately is oatmeal, and granola bars. I also eat tons of fruit, cucumbers, yogurt with granola, pasta, toast with butter or peanut butter, eggs and toast, eggs & hashbrowns, baked potatoes, eggos
if you're nauseous, stay away from artificial flavors and acidic foods. they will make it worse.
hope that helps some!!

I had been doing the same thing- eating out alot whatever sounds good and eating it ALL, and it shows (I had to wear my SOs shirt to work today yuck) But small changes have helped me feel better
First- MORE WATER! Most of the time when I feel hungry I am mostly thirsty. Dehydration makes us all feel yucky. Also small meals more often have treated me better than big meals.
Lots of fruits, veggies and hummus, yogurt and granola (better than Ice cream) and whole food smoothies and juices. If you have fresh juice bar nearby go get a juice made with apple cucumber/celery and lemon- so refreshing and hydrating!
There is a nut butter brand out there called Justins and they make little squeeze packs of "Justins Maple Almond Butter" and some other flavors. So yummy! They are high in calories but also in good fats and save me when I havent had time to eat when working.
Grilled chicken grosses me out to!! So do most meats right now so I have been eating veggie burgers made with quinoa- so crunchy and good. Also for the nausia I take a homeopathic remedy from that works wonderfully- Nux Vomica in 30c. You can get it at a natural foods but check with your Dr. first.
I can go on and on about food right now so Im just gonna go make some. This is something I am trying to remember right now...before I put a food in my mouth I ask myself " Is this food going to nourish me and my baby?"
Snack ideas:
Apples and peanut butter
Mixed nuts
low-fat yogurt
get some fruit and eat a bunch of grapes or a orange or something along those lines.
