Hey ladies. I was just wondering when your OBs or MWs started measuring your bellies? Mine hasn't at all yet, and I've had multiple people ask me about it, which got me curious. :

Mine does not measure at all. He says the doctors in his practice all agree that it tends to be inaccurate, especially if you have any extra weight on you. Instead they prod around to see that your fundal height is in the right place.
I want to say mine didn't start until 30 weeks with this pregnancy. I can't remember what my old practice did with DS, but I remember them doing it prior to 30 weeks since they ordered a growth u/s, as I was measuring 3 weeks ahead. Maybe 28 weeks?
I switched from an OB to midwife at 26 weeks, but at both places they measured my belly every time I went in. That started really early on... beginning of the 2nd trimester.

Can I ask what results you got from the growth u/s?
My doctor has been measuring me since 16 or 20 weeks; I just can't remember which. At my 29 week appt (was supposed to be my 28 week, but we got off at 24 due to the doctor being out of town), I was also measuring 3 weeks ahead and the doctor ordered an u/s for my next appointment at 31 weeks. My doctor assured me that the fundal measurements are not terribly accurate, but I'll admit to some nerves about it. (Although, very happy to get another look at my little peanut.)

My regular doctor has never done it. She feels for the top of the uterus and listens to baby with the doppler. I saw another doctor at the practice this last Friday and he did measure and said I was 3 weeks ahead and scheduled me for a growth u/s for this Friday.
I have a significant amount of extra weight so I don't think it's accurate at all but, if he wants to check on the baby I'm okay with it. As long as they don't try to use measuring big as an excuse to induce, I don't mind seeing the baby again.

Are we talking measuring you actual belly? The around your belly? Because if that is what we are talking about I had no idea that Drs did that.
Mine measures your uterus (which may be what we are truly speaking of) and has done that since, meh - 16 weeks?
