Hi Ladies. I am new to The Bump. I lost my daughter almost 6 weeks ago at 34 weeks due to what my doctor thinks was a placental abruption. I woke up one evening feeling like I needed to use the restroom. I got up and felt a gush. I thought that my water had broken but when I turned the light on in the bathroom, I realized it was blood. I had never had this much bleeding in my life. I yelled at my husband to get up. We drove to the hospital. My daughter had a heartbeat and it was strong. A few minutes later it started to drop and they told me I would need an emergency c-section. I was put under general since there was no time for the epidural. I woke up to my husband telling me our daughter had died. Apparently her heart dropped in the operating room and by the time they got her out she had no heartbeat. They tried CPR for 45 minutes but were unable to bring her back.
I am sad, lonely, mourning all the things we will never have with her. I wonder why this happened to us, to her, to our family. I want answers as to what happened. My doctor thinks the placenta abrupted, but how could it just happen in a matter of minutes.
I would love to hear of any similar stories. Also, any ladies who had a c-section, how long did your doctor give you until TTC.

BFP #2 - 10-11-2012 Beta 38, 10-15-2012 Beta 518!.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board.
I lost my daughter due to incompotent cervix at 21 weeks so I can relate somewhat. Going from everything was normal to losing the baby very abruptly. But I cannot imagine how heartbreaking it was being so close to your EDD and then experiencing a loss.
As I understand it, placental abruption occurs very quickly with little to no warning signs.
Big Hugs!!!

This story absolutely breaks my heart to read, and confirms yet again that there is no 'safe weeks' in a pregnancy.
Welcome to our board. I hope you can heal and grieve until you find some peace.
