I have been off from BC for about 11 months now without becoming pregnant. My SO and I have been seriously trying to conceive for about 4-5 months with no success. I just started my second round of Clomid (50mg) and am excited to see what happens. Thankfully I haven't had any bad side effects from the medication and have had a regular cycle with my progesterone levels increased from the previous blood test. We have been quite discouraged because after a year of not preventing pregnancy, it hasn't happened.
Does anyone have an suggestions or stories they would like to share? I would love to hear about your experiences with clomid.
Re: Trying to conceive with Clomid
CLOMID: 4 rounds, 50mg + TI = BFN's. FEMARA: 1 round = no response
12-24-2012 : Laparoscopy, Softball sized cyst/endo/scar tissue removed.
Cycle #14 - Feb 2013 : 50mg clomid. Ovidrel Trigger. IUI on 2/14/13 = thin lining, multiple cysts.
Cycle #16 actively trying (May/June): Femara, TI = BFN
Cycle #17- #20 - Med/Treatment break, trying on our own = BFN's all around.
Cycle #21 - Femara, MORE Femara, Ovidrel and a Christmas IUI = BFN
Dealing with MFI, good count, good motility, 3% morph-HSG all clear, all other test results came back normal, IUI is our next step
May 2012- Clomid 50mg + IUI = BFN
June- Cycle Break
July- Forced cycle break due to cysts
August- Femara, Trigger, IUI#2= ?
Im with PP about getting tested- HSG and SA. You are wasting time and money if you or your DH has a issue.
June- Femara 7.5mg + Trigger + IUI = BFN August- Lap & Hysteroscopy = Blocked & Partially Blocked Tubes
September- Femara 5mg = CX - No Response on Left = BFN October- 100mg Clomid + Trigger + TI = BFN

I've done two clomid cycles. I am actually on a break this cycle because the clomid caused a large cyst on my right ovary. The only symptom I has was a slight twinge on that side, but I had no idea what was going on until we saw it on the ultrasound. During my two cycles the only major side effect I had was a constant headache.
Also, DH and I had full workups before we began clomid. His SA was good, but we found out one of my tubes was blocked. I am so thankful I found this board and learned about testing procedures before I wasted a medicated cycle.
5/12 -- HSG, blocked left tube cleared, cycle canceled b/c of cyst
6/12 -- Clomid 100mg + TI -- BFN
7/12 -- Clomid 100mg + TI + Progesterone -- BFN
8/12 -- Benched with a cyst
10/12 -- Clomid 100mg + TI -- BFN
11/12 -- Clomid 100mg + Trigger + TI -- BFN
12/12 -- Clomid 100mg + Trigger + IUI -- BFN
1/13 -- Clomid 100mg + Trigger + IUI -- BFFN
2/13 -- Clomid 100mg + Trigger + IUI -- BFP!!!
Beta 1=168 Beta 2=745 Beta 3=1700+

you need to be monitored via ultrasounds mid cycle (usually every other day til you ovulate) to make sure you are even ovulating..you are taking clomid, and YOU DON"T EVEN KNOW IF ITS WORKING.
Also, you may be ovulating on your own and not need clomid..and why aren't you going to a fert specialist ..an OB or gyn should not be giving you clomid.
You also need to do all the tests...we did an investigative cycle (after a miscarriage and almost a year of trying) and the put me on clomid 50 mg and timed intercourse via ultrasound and blood work telling me when I ovulate. I already ovulate every month on my own, so I was really annoyed they put me on Clomid for no reason as far as I could see. Anyway, we did 2 cycles of clomid and I got pregnant the second try..I attribute this more to the timed intercourse than the clomid to be honest, because they told us exactly when to have sex so it was a no brainer.
Anyway, I guess clomid is super intense on your body..and you only get a few cycles on it in your LIFE so I wouldn't waste my time on it if you don't know what's going on and if you aren't being monitored. and other posters have talked about cysts. you need to get this crap tracked via ultrasounds.
I am currently 2 weeks away from having my baby...so honestly, get the tests done, and you will get results so much faster than just winging it with an OB or gyn
