TTC After a Loss
TTC after D&C
Hi all,
We found out we were pregnant with our first in June, and had a heartbeat at 6w1d. At our 11w appt, we unfortunately had no heartbeat and baby only measured 8w. Just had a D&C on Sunday.
We are devastated, and definitely weren't expecting this for our first pregnancy, but we're trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel. My husband and I have decided that we want to try again asap, after my first period as my doctor advised. Anyone have any advice or success stories on TTC after a D&C?

For success stories, this isn't the place to look since we're all still TTC. Go lurk on PGAL if you want to see success stories though. As your doctor probably told you, there are a lot of success stories and you should have a good chance at having a healthy pregnancy in the future. In fact, after one miscarriage and no other medical problems, the chances for the next pregnancy are about as good as for someone with no history of miscarriage. Obviously it's never a guarantee though.
Sorry for your loss. I'm in a similar position. I had a D&C in July. My OB advised waiting one cycle before TTC again. Fortunately, AF came less than a month after the procedure, so now I'm playing the waiting game.
My OB told me the chances of having another m/c are slim, but naturally I am still extremely nervous about getting pregnant again. His words of encouragement gave DH and I the strength to try again, though.
