Okay, I am just writing this for a little peace of mind.
I keep hearing of people saying that they recently got an u/s and the tech found something of concern.
I haven't had an u/s since my anatomy scan at 18 weeks. I am nearly 30 weeks now. Is anybody else not getting ultrasounds? Are you worried that there's something that you don't know? I am getting a little nervous. Baby is kicking nice and strongly though.
Re: Question for all..
I had my anatomy scan at almost 20 weeks. We had a fetal echocardiogram at around 23 weeks since they thought there might be a problem with his heart. Nothing since then.
A lot of the u/s posts I've seen were follow-ups to problems that were found earlier (like my 23 week u/s). Are these the ones you're noticing?
This! I've only had one u/s for each pregnancy. They only do more if they see something of concern.

I also have an u/s at 32 weeks to check for size. Other than that it has been the normal (6 wk dating, 12wk, 18 A/S) plus a precautionary check when they thought I had a blood clot in my leg.
I wouldn't be worried. I got/tget them frequently because:
1. twins
2. IVF patient
3. have been having 30-40 daily contractions since 15w and also had a SCH bleed at 10w6d
The fact that all looked great at your a/s and your doc doesn't feel the need to do another one is a great thing!

My practice normally only does a 20 week. I had one at 8 weeks because of bleeding, and then I paid for an elective at 30 weeks.
Maybe this is best for FFFC but I totally side-eye doctors who give tons of ultrasounds to low risk moms without a good reason. Part of why health care costs are out of control in this country.
I think I'm the only one who posted about getting another one even if I'm low-risk but just to clarify, I'm Canadian so we don't have to pay for it.
I wasn't referring to anyone in this post, just in general.
We have detailed scans at each visit (currently every 2 weeks) and I always hold my breath until given the ok each time. I think that's just part of being a mom, whether it's your first or second, third, etc.
Try not to worry too much though!
