Hello and Good day to all,
My name is Jill and I am a 32 year old woman trying to have a baby. I have been trying for some years now and after $$$$$ later I have finally accepted the fact that the only way I am going to have a baby is by IVF. This is something that I did not want to except as I am a healthy woman. I was told a few years back that I have PCOS and that if I lose some weight it is a possibility it could go away well I did just that and it did not go away, I want a baby really bad and we are not getting any younger. I have been researching Doctors that have a good success rate with IVF and have found a few, but decided to go back to the Dr that told me I had PCOS as he is a great doctor and wants nothing more that to give me a baby, the problem is that he wants to get started ASAP but $$$ is an issue, I know if this is something I want then $$ is not an issue so they say right! it is hard to pull $15000.00 out of a hat and say here let?s get started. He put me on birth controls yesterday as he was serious about getting started but when I got home I spoke to my fianc?e and he was in shock that it went this way as I went to just talk to him and take the Day 2 of my cycle sono so it was a shock factor when I did the math and realized my insurance won?t cover any kind of meds for infertility as I am not covered (THANKS TO MY JOB) WOW this is going to be pricey huh.. I am sitting here in front of my computer trying to figure this out and the idea came to me to see if any one that has been successful with IVF and has any unused medication left that they are willing to sell to someone who is trying to have a precious baby. I have finally gotten over my crying days of failure of being a woman and not able to conceive the way it is suppose to be and I now need help and I figure I can help someone back with a little cash from buying the meds from you. I have listed the medication below if you have enough for a cycle of any or all of these meds are you willing to sell them to me. I have done my homework on the prices and hope we can work something out.
Meds needed:
Follistim
Menopur
Ganirelix
Novarel
Re: IVF Infertility Meds Injections, Does anyone want to sell??
No one here is successful, this is a TTTC board.
Selling Rx drugs is illegal.
I have no experience with them but some women have used https://ivfmeds.com/
Good luck with your cycling.
Why is there always someone out there having to say something EXTRA. Do you think I DONT KNOW THAT OTHERS have financial situations?? sometimes people have to think out of the box to make things happen. I Am NOT ASKING FOR illegal drugs here now am I. Thanks for the info of what other woman have used. I mean think of it this way one hand washes the other if someone can help me with Meds I can help them with putting that $ they lost back in there pockets. I am not asking for free stuff here.
Have a good day!!
You are asking someone to commit an illegal act. Publicly.
Always someone out there = you go phishing a lot and get told to go stuff yourself?
Sorry, but this board has very real experience of people asking for meds and then selling them elsewhere. You are not "helping" anyone. There are many established sell boards for meds, why not just go there?
Asking for illegal drugs? No
Asking people to something illegal with their drugs? Yes
Are you also hoping they'll sell them at a discounted price?

FWIW, if I had extra meds leftover, I wouldn't even be selling them, I'd be handing them out to the girls I've gotten to know on this board, not someone who has been here for a day. That being said, I truly hope you find a way to get your meds and save a ton of money. Good luck!

This is probably true. Though I will say, I lurked on this board and had, oh, about 20 posts a good 8 months before I became a more regular poster. When it became clear IVF was our only option, I contacted OOP and was rejected out of the gate. I get it, but it still kind of stung. Ironically, my friend donated to me her leftover meds (which I could not use since we're on different protocols) and those I have donated to OOP.

I HAVE looked into the program, in fact I HAVE volunteered to donate my leftover meds to it! I understand she is a newbie and doesn't qualify to receive them yet. I also understand there is a chance she isn't in it for the right reasons, but you don't know that. She may be a newbie like we all were/are at some point and doesn't understand protocol. I was just trying to give her a better option to look into if she truly was interested in going about this the right way. I don't mean to give you attitude but your post sounded snarky when all I was doing was helping to educate her more.
Not to mention (again) this board has been burned by people with less than good intentions. The potential for someone to resell meds, or take them without medical supervision, or (my favorite) want donated meds even when they HAVE Rx coverage has been abused in the past, and if that means once bitten, twice shy then too bad.
I thought this was supposed to be a place where women could get together and support each other! You're right, I am a newbie and haven't posted much because I work and have a million other things going on in my life that prevent me from posting on every thread i'd like to join. I did lurk on here for a very long time though, too intimidated to post for exactly this reason. I wasn't offended by your response. I just thought that you came across as bossy and rude when you don't know a thing about this poster or myself. But that's ok, I'm going to choose to stop reading responses to this thread because I'd rather stay happy and have positive thoughts throughout this time in my life. I wish you no harmful thoughts, guess we just don't see eye to eye.
Ditto this! OP does not qualify for the OOP meds program. Period.

You haven't lurked long enough, apparently, to understand the true purpose and spirit of this community. Edwina doesn't need me to defend her, but I will. She has offered nothing but consummate support and unparalleled helpful information to the women of this board and IFV. We have rules to protect the women here and the integrity of this board as a safe haven when many other aspects of life have grown dark and difficult. It's too bad you don't see that because you are missing out on a very good thing.

Won't cover meds for infertility or won't cover meds for IVF? If they cover meds for IUI, just have them do the prior auth as if you are having IUI. Order your drugs once a month (if you are covered you will just have a copay). Don't have the IUI's and keep stocking up the drugs, before you know it you will have 6 cycles of drugs for your IVF treatments. If your insurance covers IUI's with meds they they also cover the cycle ultrasounds. So just see your RE once or twice a month every month (paying the copay) and stock up on your drugs. Don't try and refill them all six cycles at once though, just fill one cycle at a time. Just a thought, if indeed your insurance covers meds with IUI.
Good luck, praying.

Hmmm, so what do you call lying to insurance companies to have them pay for meds for a procedure you aren't having done and that they would not cover if you were honest?
ETA:
From https://www.helpstopfraud.org/
In this type of fraud? false or misleading information is provided to a health insurance company in an attempt to have them pay unauthorized benefits to the policy holder? another party? or the entity providing services.
I completely agree with Edwina and AmCheri.
This post is seriously filled with so many hot messes coming out of the wood work.
Yes, we all want a baby REALLY bad, but the reality of it is committing fraud, asking for drugs -- yes, even Px drugs are illegal if they aren't taken by the person they Px to -- is just a bit rich. I'm kind of amazed at the ignorance here in publicly soliciting.
No one here is entitled to anything.
It's always amazing how people show up when there's something "free". Many of the women and their partners here do find creative means of funding IF, which you'd be aware of if you were an active member, though it does typically entail both sides of the relationship to be invested. Where I live they won't even consider IVF if you're not married.
I'm an attorney that works in insurance--trust me, it *is* fraud.

First I only gave her the option. As everyone else seems to be doing nothing but jumping down the poor girls throat. Newbies can't even come here without hearing it from one of the frequent flyers on here and the words they say are not pretty. If the girls on here learned to be nice instead of bitter towards newbies you may get better responses from other. These woman on here treat newbies like pieces of crap and frankly Im tired of it. We are ALL struggling with the same thing, INFERTILITY-BUT it gives not a one single woman in this forum to jump down someones throat because they post about their feelings and contemplations or they post to the wrong forum on ACCIDENT, unless of course it is spam. So maybe instead of jumping down others throats about "this is fraud" and "this is the TTC Inf forum, there is no success here" maybe they can sit back and think for a second that this WOMAN is JUST LIKE YOU!!!!!
Telling someone there is no success on this board is false information.
Second, yes I found out it would be considered fraud, I apologize for my lack of ignorance in that category.
THIRD-I never said my RE told me that and I never stated I did that, Im not an idiot and for the record am not stating she is either but people will go through whatever they have to to get their meds if they are that desperate.
As for me, yes I want a child with my husband but I would never even contemplate doing it like that. We just finished our 2nd cycle, finding out my dianosis is now LUF-but even with that dianosis its not going to make me become bitter to the other women in this forum. Instead I Pray for them, and I KINDLY would let them know which forum they should go to if they mistakenly posted to the wrong board.

Thanks Kdg teacher, you just proved my point. You are wrong. There were two girls just last week on here who posted twice in here about their BFP's. They were here for a bit. Personally being someone who is struggling with Infertility I would like for those woman to come back and update us on their progress, it just shows there is success with infertility. I would love to see them post in here to remind myself and others that there is always hope.
I am sorry that you feel the need to keep digging at me.......I'm praying that God opens up your heart to see how others have been treated on here as newbies. I pray that He blesses you with a child. Good luck with your October IVF cycle.

I'm not digging at you. And most of them post on the PAIF board where anyone can keep up with their progress.
Careful up there on that high horse, it's a long fall.
No need to be so hypocrytical, Carebear. It's obvious you are very sensitive and we all certainly have our moments, which IF only amplifies from time to time, but trying to prove your point and call Kdg "wrong" is awfully patronizing. It seems to me that people were merely trying to draw attention to the fact that using insurance self servingly, asking for drugs, and the like are in fact illegal. Astonishingly people supported the OP's ideas, which aren't so well thought out. That's the kind of crap that makes it two steps forward, one step back for IF getting any kind of compassion and recognition.
While it's nice that it gives you hope to hear of other people's successes it is not bearing on what happens to any of us. Sure, we are all happy when people do finally have success and this is a very supportive and knowledgeable community, but going on the attack and then bringing religion into it is absolutely not necessary. Again, it's condescending.
We all want children, we all are struggling, but when someone comes in stomping their feet and acting immature it is very difficult to take them seriously.
Mitzi thanks for sharing your thoughts. I do not believe anyone came in here stomping their feet. These new people just want the same respect and I am not seeing that. I am not speaking about myself I am speaking about the other newbies I have seen in this forum. Ive have seen these newbies get hurt really bad by some of these woman who have been on here for quite some time. Its not right.
As for me stating that kdgteacher was wrong, she was wrong in what she said. And yes I believe it does give us all hope that one day we could all have that future.
As for bringing religion into this.....religion? I don't belong to a cult, I have a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the one who is with me through all of this and I seek Him to get me through this. I will continue praying for all of you ladies as I know how you are all feeling........
As for compassion and recognition, I choose to have the same compassion my Lord did for everyone. No one seemed to notice below that I had apologized for my ignorance in not knowing that indeed it would be fraud because people only want to concentrate on the negative. Well He has forgiven me for my mistake and I hope in the future you all will too.

What was I wrong about? You may not like what I say (or even how it is stated), but that doesn't mean what I say is wrong. Sometimes the truth is hard to hear, but that again doesn't make it wrong.
