I remember you saying that your DD never took a bottle. My DS won't either. We've spent a small fortune on different bottles, nipples, and whatnot with no luck. At this point I'm used to it, and it's really no big deal. Anyway, I'm having trouble getting him to take a sippy, too. We have a few soft spout, hard spout, and straw kind. He just chews on them, and gets frustrated because he wants the water but cant figure it out. He just doesn't seem to realize he needs to suck. Did your DD have this issue? I keep offering them, but I'm at a loss. I have no idea how to teach this kid that he's able to suck on something other than the boob.
it is worth a try, I thought it was weird--they have the largest spout of all that I tried. I remember pretending to drink from one to show her that she had to tip it--but she got it. just keep trying, he will get it eventually.

Re: Jonny.... And anyone else with a LO who refuses bottles (sippy related)
DD took right to the sippy--hard spout, she wasn't a fan of the straw until around 18 months.
i used these for milk:

and after trying every stinking sippy, she liked the cheapies the best for water:
