Is that a word? oh well
I'm in the Nashville area, 30 weeks and starting to look at Placenta Encapsulation. I've done google searches and pulled up several. Only looks like 2 are certified but I've found several who aren't but appear to have lots of experience.
How did/are you choosing an encapsulationist? I figure most are going with their doula but we've decided against a doula.
Re: How to hire placenta encapsulationist
I'm not having a doula this time either, so I also just googled them in my area. I found this website (https://www.placentanetwork.com/utilities/userServices/search_regions.asp), but because none of them are in my area I had better luck contacting local doulas/lactation specialists/birth centers.
It depends on what you are looking to have down with your placenta. There is only one certification right now and it is very limiting in what the encapsulator is allowed to do and how they do it.
If you want your placenta prepared using the Raw method or 1/2 and 1/2, then you won't find anyone certified to do it because PBi does not allow that.
There are tons of uncertified PEs who do a great, safe job. Many are uncertified because they want to offer as many options as possible.
