October 2012 Moms

What stroller are you planning on getting?

Or using?

Right now our registry has:

Chicco Keyfit stroller frame for her infant seat
City Mini for later on

We considered just doing an adapter for the Mini but like the idea of having both in case we have two children relatively close in age (and the frame and adapter are about the same price). We also were debating between the Mini and Britax B-agile but DH prefers the handle bar on the Mini.

Re: What stroller are you planning on getting?

  • I have a Baby Jogger City Elite, and a Cybex Onyx currently, and love both.  I'll be buying a Keyfit stroller frame, and a Uppababy Vista with a kickboard for my older DD.  I love having a bassinet when they are infants, and a reversible seat is priceless to me until they hit about 16 months old.  At that point I will probably sell the Uppababy and just use my BJCE and Onyx.

I have bought and sold about 7 strollers so far, I am stroller obsessed and love having options.  What you want for a baby is WAY different than what you want for a toddler.

We registered for the Chicco liteway stroller, we don't feel that we need a stroller that will hold the car seat.  So we registered for an umbrella stroller that will hold baby from birth to 40 pounds.  The price was decent so if we need to upgrade to a better stroller we can do so around the 6 -8 month age range.

  • We registered for the Baby Trend Expedition Travel System. I really wanted a jogger so that's why we went with this. I'll probably get a snap and go too.

  • We are getting the Britax B-agile and the B-safe carseat.  I went to BRU yesterday and pushed it around and folded it up and I love how easy it was.  DH is only 5'7 and I'm 5'5 so we didn't really need the adjustable handle.

Yes I've bought a few off CL and then re-sold them months later for the same amount that I bought them for!  I did pay full price for my BJCE but that was because the new model just came out and I *had* to have it, lol.  My Cybex is like a $200 stroller and I got it from Overstock for $65 including shipping.  I know that I could sell it right now for $100 easily (but I won't sell it cause I love it!)

I'll buy a new Vista if I can't find a used one that I like on my local CL.  They sell for $700 ish new or $400 ish used, so even if I have to buy a new one I know that I will use it daily for at least a year, and can then sell it for $400.

  • We are getting the Britax B-Agile and B-Safe car seat.  I have gone to BRU and played with it multiple times and love it.  If the City Mini had a snap and go car seat I might have considered that but didn't care for the car seat adapter option.

I want a b-agil or a city mini.  I have to let Dh push both and see what works.  It will probably be about a year because we have a car seat and frame for about the first 6 months.

  • We have the City Select and absolutely love it. Super light weight, easy to open/close, and I couldn't imagine not having the reversible seat and multiple reclining positions. Oh, and it comes in handy that it can easily be turned into a double. Didn't plan on having two so close, but now it'll be the perfect stroller for us.

We are going for a Vista from Uppababy. The others best choices were the Urbo from Mamas and Papas and the B ready :)
  • I have my eye on the Bugaboo Cameleon. I've heard mixed reviews despite seeing it everywhere in NYC. Thoughts?
  • I really want to get the Graco ready2grow stroller (sit & stand type) because it will work great for DD(4) & the new baby at the same time.

  • My mom so kindly bought me my dream stroller which is a Phil & Ted with doubles kit. :) I freaking love it and used it with my DS the other day and it was so easy peasy.

Same. 3friends have suggested the citi mini without my even asking. My H had a bugaboo w his D and thinks the citi mini is better. Bugaboo too big for subway, etc

Am I the only one who has no clue nd hasn't even looked yet? I find all this stuff overwhelming. I bought the baby bargains book and got through the crib, mattress section. Then I went online to compare reviews with their suggestions and found they weren't always consistent. At least I now know some pointers on what to look for but u can't exactly just go down their list and pick the recommended ones without research.
  • We registered for a Chicco Cortina Magic Stoller and also the BOB Revolution SE stroller.  DH loves to run, but I can see pushing the BOB around all the time.
  • We bought the Peg Perego Pliko 3 with matching infant seat.  I already can't wait to use it.  It took about 5 seconds for me to figure out how to open/close it and you can easily do it with one hand.

  • Probably the City Mini GT and the Chicco keyfit, but I also want to look into adapters for the City Mini GT for carseats.  We "test drove" a bunch at Buy Buy Baby yesterday, including the Bob Revolution and the Uppa Baby Vista, but we liked the City Mini GT the best by far.

The City Mini GT.  We are in love with it!

I know! Right?  We thought it was so much nicer than much more expensive strollers!  So maneuverable and great adjustable height handlebars!  My husband is 6'6", so that was important!

  • We've registered for the Baby Jogger F.I.T.  We're hopefully going to get the Chicco carseat adapter to use until our baby can sit up on his/her own.  I like th ease of use of this stroller and that it's specifically made for all terrains and can handle jogging.  I've seen a few of these in action and I love love love this stroller!
  • We got the Baby Trend set because we like the handle on the car seat and the big bike tires for grass etc. I can't wait to use it!

  • We have a BOB single and a Mountain Buggy Double (love both).  We're going to get a City Mini double when the 2012 version comes out.

we are registered for the chicco cortina double stroller.  this is our first and we arent having twins, but we want to have two under two, about eighteen months apart, so we are going to go with the double stroller right off the bat.  and until we have baby number two, i have a place to put the diaper bag, my purse, shopping stuff, etc.
  • We have the Uppa Vista and will get the 2nd seat for DD.  My boss is giving me his City Mini Double so we'll use that if we need a side by side.  I also have a Maclaren umbrella stroller but it's a single.  I guess it's worth it to keep a single in case we go some place with one child and not the other and need a stroller.

  • We had the snap and go for when DD was in  her infant carrier (seriously best thing ever) and then when she no longer wanted to sit in her infant carrier at about 8 months, we got a mclaren and I LOVE it.  It gave us more time to test strollers out and we saved a whole lot of money not buying a travel system.  we're going to do the same thing this time around.

I am in love with stroller shopping, but we are going with the 2012 UppaBaby Vista in black on Black, for our main, and I think the Peg Perrego Pliko for a smaller stroller.
