Pregnant after IF

Cautiously Excited

Hello,

I can't believe that I am actually typing these words but just found out I am pregnant!  I have no idea how it is even possible since all the tests and follicle studies my OB did showed it wasn't possible this month.  I even had a meeting scheduled for monday with a fertillity specialist!  I am waiting to hear back from my OB on next steps but, from what I have heard, two different branded pregnancy tests are probably accurate.  Ah!  Hope it sticks!

    Congrats!

Just genuinely curious, what kind of testing did you have done with your OB and how long were you trying? Did they give you some kind of diagnosis from these "follicle studies"?

Thanks!  We had been trying for about 4 months and did a whole host of different things with blood tests (hard to keep them all straight) and trying medications like clomid, metformin and hcg.  They also did multiple ultrasounds throughout my cycle to watch and see how my folicals were growing to see if they were getting big enough.  Usually about 4-5 per cycle.  I was diagnosed with PCOS before I had our daughter and had done through this similar plan when I got preggo with her so we jumped right back in when we decided to try for number 2!

4 months?  Ok.  I wouldn't consider that infertility but congratulations on your pregnancy.

I'm usually a lurker, but I really don't think it is the place of anyone on this board to belittle the infertility struggles of other women on this board. I personally struggled with IF for 2 1/2 yrs (PCOS), and I am thankful everyday for the little girl I have growing inside of me. Every woman on this board knows that there can be no rhyme or reason to why some of us with the same exact diagnosis have an easier time getting pregnant, but just because the stars aligned in her favor sooner than they did for you or I doesn't mean she didn't go through some of the same tears and dark places a lot of us went through.  I know that there are women on this board who have gone through far more struggles for much longer than I did (or even you have), and even though I don't wish that on anyone, I would certainly hope they would never belittle my struggle because it wasn't as long as theirs.

To the OP, congratulations on your BFP!

Seriously, you think I belittled her in my post?  I just stated my opinion which also happens to be the opinion of the medical community.  And I guess you missed the half of my post that said congratulations too.  Maybe you should get over yourself.

To the other ladies on this board, I apologize if I offended anyone.  I know this board is usually drama free and I'm usually the last person to start drama.  It was not my intent to "belittle" anyone and I actually thought maybe she posted on the wrong board.

I guess I should have clarified.  We had been doing fertility treatments for 4 months.  We had been trying much, much longer than that.  Thanks for your kind words!  Can't wait to meet this little pea!
