  No--no way.  That's where I draw the line.  You can give a goody bag with a note that says 'thanks for coming'--but unless she went in to another room and wrote special notes to everyone--- then no.  Generic thank you's I hate.  Maybe it's just me.

  Sounds like it would just be a generic "Thanks for coming" which might be fine if you told people not to bring gifts, but if there are gifts involved then thank you notes should be mailed to them.  That's just my opinion.

  No it was definiltey a "Thank you' it was a picture of him from Portrait Innovations with a Thank you. It was definitely an official Thank You. I agree Cheesy!

  How much are you really saving by doing that? $10? Not worth it to be thought of as the tacky cheapskate (which is would I would think!).

  I really dislike how impersonal things are getting.  I would find that really tacky.  Personalizing a thank-you really isn't that big of deal.  And really, how much money would you be saving in stamps?  A few bucks.
