It depends really. DS doesn't drink anymore at night but can wake up anywhere from 1-10 times for a pacifer mostly or a cough but sometimes its just tiny little melt downs. Usually he's back asleep in seconds.
Average is 2 times. Some nights three (counting 5am as one of them as that just isn't a civilized hour to start the day) and on a really good night once.
ETA - these are all to eat. DD rarely wakes otherwise.
About a month ago, we were still at 2 times/night. I knew DD wasn't really hungry, so I played a little trick on her during the first wake-up: I gave her a bottle (I normally EBF) with water in it. It took two nights, but she quit waking up that first time. Now, she's typically up once, between 3 and 4, to eat, and goes back to sleep until 7 or 8. This week has been the exception, as she's getting her two front teeth on top and is up every 2ish hours. Help me, Lord!
0-1, every once in a while she wakes up a 2nd time for what we're guessing are teething pains. Don't know how you ladies who are still getting up 3 or more times a night are doing it! For us, more sleeping did coincide with when we started solids. We're up to three meals a day so that seems to be helping satiate her so she sleeps longer at night.
Too many to count if I try to keep her in her crib. She usually ends up with me around 11 or 12. We have partially sleep trained. She goes down on her own for naps and night but we haven't overnight sleep trained since she was sick last month. Planning to redo that at the end of this month. She'll be 7 months then.

Between 4-6 most nights. It suuuuuuuuuuucks but I don't want to night wean for fear of what it'll do to my supply/nursing relationship. I can't wait until summer when school is out so we can night wean!
We are still all over the place. For a week I'll think she's doing great only waking up once or twice, but then last night she was up 4-5 times. She had her 6 month shots on Monday and didn't eat well all day, and she's also teething. I'm reading Ferber right now.
he was doing better and only getting up 1x, but then last week he wakes to eat 2x, but always goes back to bed. Usually gets up between 1030-12am, and then again at 230am, and then he will wake up at 530am...I dont give him a bottle at this time, instead he just gets to come back in bed with us and falls back asleep for another hour. I am really hoping he drops one of these feedings...

1-3, was 3 EBF up until last week; now 0-1 comfort (around midnight) with 1-2 EBF (3-6am), hoping for 1 ... I don't know that I could handle 0 from 8pm to 8am yet. ;-)

She wakes up usually between 7-8hrs, nurses and then goes right back to sleep for about 3-3.5 more hours. So once. This just started in the last few weeks though. Before that I was up with her 2-3x nursing each time.
When DS is not sick, it is b/w 2-3 times a night and he nurses both times. I'm wondering if he's getting ready to drop one of those feedings though. He's not eating all that much during the day, only ~16 oz and doesn't really nurse after I get home until just before bed. So I figure if he eats 3 times(at bed and then 2x a night) after I get home at ~3 oz each time, then his daily intake is ~25 oz. Do you know how much LO is taking in during the day?

We're at 3 as well...and that is a big improvement from a month ago (5-6 and staying awake for 1-2 hours...ugh). I just started reading the No Cry Sleep Solution last night. I would LOVE to get down to 1-2.
Usually 2. DS was STTN from 4-6 months. Within the last week he started waking up twice. I'm hoping it's just a phase. He started daycare recently, was eating basically nothing during the day as he got used to it (I EBF and he's not crazy about the bottle). I think he's hitting the 6 month GS and possibly teething so between that and starting daycare I'm not surprised he's up at night... but I hope he goes back to STTN soon!!!!
And I do not understand how any of you waking so many times are functioning.... it would be unacceptable to me to have my kid waking multiple times a night on a regular basis at this age- we would be seeing a sleep specialist. 10 times a night? No one is sleeping at all. What is the point of nighttime? What are you doing to remedy the situation? It cannot be good for you or your baby to be awake so much during the night. Sleep as just as important as food or play or anything else we give our children. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it baffles my mind.
Re: on average, how many times are you up each night?
10-12
Three sounds heavenly!
Glad I'm not the only one
