My husband and I have been trying to concieve for almost a year. Recently I had a doctors appointment to see why I'm not getting a normal period, he called for blood work and an ultrasound to see if everything is normal. The blood test and ultra sounds came back normal and good.
My last period was Nov 20. My doctor said to keep trying "naturally" until we have reached a year of trying. They will not test my husband or me until it's been a year.
Has anyone had the same problem with tests being fine but still not normal periods? What have you done?
I also have stopped drinking alcohol, started eating healthy.

You have not had a period in over 100 days and they didn't at least give provera to jump start your period? That's not right!
Blood work right now is not going to help much since they don't know where you are in a cycle. How much longer before it is a year? I personally would ask them to give you a script for Provera so that you can at least start a new cycle. Actually, I would seek a new OB for a second opinion since yours does not seem to be that with it. One you get a period off of provera (which could take 10-14 days) then I would have blood work done the third day of your period so that they can look at the levels on the correct time to get a better handle on what's going on.

Yup, listen to Kati, after 60 days with no period showing up, most doctors will give you Provera or PIO to start your cycle. If your ob/gyn is letting you go beyong 100 days and not even mention it, major moron alert! Get outta there and find a new Dr. ASAP!
That's just scary. How are you supposed to "try" when your cycle is screwed up and you have no idea where in your cycle you are? I hope AF comes on her own, but if not, please call a good ob/gyn soon. Good luck!

For reals! Ditto, PP.
I agree you should wait for official testing til it's been a year if that's what he wants, but your body should NOT go that long without a period. It's not good for it. After 60 days they should be giving you Provera to start your period. Call and ask for Provera and then find you a new dr, ASAP!
IMO get a new Dr. You need someone a little more agressive. However, it takes a lot of people about a year to concieve. Are you doing the OPK's and taking your temp and checking your CM? Did they even suggest Folical ultrasound or a progesterone test? If you go to someone who does infertility they will be much more receptive to checking things out.

Thanks for the advice ladies. I'm gonna call tomorrow to schedule another appt and I will def be asking about Provera.
The blood test they order was to check my hormones. That came back normal
The ultrasound I had was normal and vaginal, which they were checking for any cysts and that came back normal.
