How did your labor start?

Just curious and wanted to know about how it started for you guys since this is my first and I haven't been feeling 100% lately.

1st one went into labour in middle of the night and felt I had to poop.

2nd one was induced sent home and knew

3rd one was 2 weeks early and never realized until I had "gas pains every 5 miniutes"

every time is different, but honestly you will know when you go into labour trust me

With DD, it started as menstrual-like cramps. I was only 34.5 weeks along, so I went to get checked out. I was in active labor, had no idea. My water broke in the hospital after trying to stop my labor.

DS, I spent the week leading up to it getting sick at night. My water started leaking that Friday evening, so I went in. I was actively contracting and again had no idea. Again, I only felt menstrual-like cramps. I never experienced contractions that I could time myself with either of them.

My water broke on my front porch 2 days after having my membranes stripped. I was 5 days overdue, 1cm dilated, and had ZERO signs of labor before then.

I had a fluid gush when I woke Sat AM and was told to go to L&D. There was a lot of fluid, but it wasn't amniotic. Got home and started losing my plug. Had my first ever contraction at dinner around 4 PM, they were every 10-20 mins by 8 PM. Water broke at 4 AM, by then contractions were 2-3 mins apart and I went in to be admitted.

With DD my water broke at 6 am and had her at 612 pm server back at the morning from like 2 Am on DS water just broke and no contractions or anything and he was here 3 hours later

Woke up one morning with mild cramping that stopped and started - it was about 5am, and it just continued to get worse throughout the day. I also had a bloody show that morning as well. Got pretty bad around 9pm, went to the hospital around midnight and had her at 6:19am. Water was broken by the midwife right before pushing started. Zero signs of labor before that. I was 39 weeks, 3 days when labor started.

had timeable weak contractions on Sunday night for a few hours.

Went to bed and they diminished, in the AM when I got out of bed they were back, stronger, and closer together

With DS, I was induced with Pitocin and the doc breaking my water - I ended up having a C-Section.

With DD, I lost my mucus plug and had contractions about 10-15 minutes apart the morning of my 39 week appt. When the OB checked me for dilation, I was 5cm dilated! She sent me to the hospital and DD came out 2 hours later - vaginal delivery with no pain medication!

Woke up, lost my MP (with lots of bloody show), and started having mild contractions (felt like a crampy tightening of my abs... not the whole uterus like they say). I didn't have any signs of labor when I went to bed the night before and I had only been 1cm dilated at my last appt.

At 40 weeks 5 days I started having timeable menstrual like cramps. Went in to get checked out and I was 4 cm dilated.

My water broke at 8:00 am when I was 40w 1d, while I was eating my cheerios on the couch. Mild contractions started about 30 minutes later and were 2 to 3 minutes apart from the start. My DD was born that night at 11:49. I never felt contractions besides BH before my water broke so it took me by surprise. I think I lost my MP three days before my water broke.

Went to bed Sunday night feeling totally normal and woke up around midnight with pains that made me curl up in the fetal position. They were definitely unlike any other pains I'd experienced (menstrual cramps, gas pains, etc) so I knew it was for sure this. I stayed in bed for a while to see if they'd keep coming and they did. DH woke up and let me kinda hug onto his body when they happened which for some reason felt better. They kept getting more consistent so we got up and started getting our things loaded and ready and he took a shower and stuff. I knew they were real because they were consistent, plus they were the kind that I couldn't walk/talk through....I just had to stop in my tracks and let them pass.

With #1 I had mild contractions and wasn't feeling right at 34 weeks, I went in and found out I was in active labor. I was 2cm dilated and 90% effaced. They sent me right to L&D to give me a tributline (sp?) shot to stop active labor and monitor me. I was put on modified bed rest for 2 weeks. The very day I was cleared of mod. bed rest my waters broke at home and I delivered my LO 4 weeks early the very next morning (5:37am).

My water broke at 1:45am with instant intense contractions about 5 minutes apart. The contractions were 2 minutes apart within about an hour and DD was born at 8:03 am. I had my membranes swept at my 38 week appointment earlier that day.

Lurking...but with DD I thought I had the worst stomach bug of my life. This started at 117 am. Went to the hospital at 930 am to receive fluids, and found out I was in active labor. She was born at 733 pm. DS was induced.

I had irregular (and not painful, just uncomfortable) contractions the night before. I was able to sleep through them. The next morning, they were still irregular. I went to work and stayed until 11am when they started to get more regular and painful. I checked into the hospital at 2pm with pretty regular and painful contractions. My water broke at 7pm. DS was born at 9:35pm, 3 weeks early.

I woke up in the night leaking fluid, but when I went in they said I hadn't ruptured and it was probably urine (which I knew it wasn't). They sent me home, and I continued to have a slow leak the next day. It started to get heavier, so we went in again and this time they confirmed I was ruptured. I really wasn't having regular contractions, and they didn't really pick up until they put me on pitocin (about 4 hours after they admitted me).

I had been feeling great, no signs of labor that day, but on the night of my due date, my water broke while I was sleeping. 14 hrs later I had a beautiful little boy!

One afternoon I suddenly got so tired I literally could not keep my eyes open. I laid down and slept for two hours. Woke up fine and didn't think anything of it. Later that night went to bed and woke up around 12. I thought I had a contraction but was kind of out of it so thought it was a dream. Then at 1:30 I woke up and could no longer lay down from the pain. Contractions came quick for me they were five (or less) minutes apart from the get go and never quit!
