is there really any difference?

Hi! We have been labeled as 'subfertile', because my cycles and ovulation are like clockwork and DH last SA was good (normal is 19%, so that should be over 30%). I am 38, he 48. The Dr said we should try IUI and also said we could just try all the stuff just like IUI, but without the insemination...just have sex on our own. Anyone out there with information, personal experience, suggestions? The way I see it, the IUI is just cutting to the chase. Thanks!
