I think that's a good time. My BBF's sister is also due the first wk in June and she's having her shower sometime in March too. She'll have a bump to show but won't be too big and uncomfortable to enjoy the party. Unless this is a surprise baby shower, it might be a good idea to ask the MTB what the best time for her is.
I don't think there is a typical timeline of when to hold one. But mid-March sounds a little early to me for a June baby. Though mine were the first and second weekends of December and I'm due mid-February. It's really all up to what works for the hostess(s) and MTB.
I had mine at 28 weeks and I am soooo glad I did it early. Now I know exactly what I still need for LO and can save up the money and not feel overwhelmed. Plus my family knows what I didn't get and have offered to help with what is left since they can get a few things at a time. Not feeling like a giant blimp, waddling around to talk to everyone was def. a bonus as well.
I would aim for April, unless there's a specific reason behind your date (like it's during spring break and that's when everyone is available or something).
I personally am a fan of having the shower early. I had my shower at 25 weeks and it worked for everyone. We had some legit reasons other than just bc that is when I wanted it. I dont think its too early. As PP said might check with MTB and see if that suits her but to me there isnt any right or wrong time to have it. Whatever the GOH and Hostesses agree to is IMO the right time.
i know alot of people have them somewhere in the 8th month but i had mine in the 7th (for a number of reasons) and i think it was great...i felt better than i do now so it was more enjoyable and gave us plenty of time to get stuff we didn't get at the shower

Ditto on this.

Mine are planned for 4 and 5 weeks before my due date. I'm a little antsy to know what I'll need after since they are so late. The holidays really didn't help with planning- but if you have the option, I'd plan them a little earlier. Also, I've been a hostess where the mom had her baby early and never made it to the shower date...that's just sad!

I had my showers when I was 28 & 29 weeks. I thought the timing was perfect, I felt great & had a visible bump. I probably wouldn't have wanted to have it past 32-33 weeks, I started to get more uncomfortable at that point.
I had my shower at 28 weeks and now that my doctor has me on bed rest (at 32 weeks) I am so thankful I had it sooner than later. If I had waited I may not have been able to attend my own shower. You never know what your pregnancy has in store for you!
I had my shower really early--I was 25 weeks, but we had family traveling and wanted to avoid the holidays and possible winter weather. I think with an early summer due date you could wait until mid-late April, but not much later--Some babies like to come early.
I'm due April 10th and having my shower mid January when I will be about 29 weeks. I figured why have it in the 7th or 8th month when I could have it when I'm still feeling great and have plenty of time to wash clothes, get stuff organized, buy what I still need, etc.
I think thats a good time. IMO I would rather have a couple months to get settled and purchase the things I need. I am due March 16th and my shower is 1/29. If It wasnt for the holiday's I would have loved to have it at the beginning of January. Really whatever date works best for everyone is good.
I wouldn't go more than 2 months early, but that is just me. I always thought it was weird to have a shower so far in advance, but everyone's explainations for it make a lot of sense. I guess I would just plan it for when you think your friend would want it, and when the most amount of people would be able to come.

April '14 Siggy Challenge:
IMO, I think that's a little late. I've always known them to be held about 2 months before the due date.
