So this is my payback for not having morning sickness...

I'm hoping someone can relate to this.  For the last week or so, I've felt like puking every time I roll over at night due to heartburn and maybe a bit of reflux.  I take some Tums and everything calms down like normal, but then I have a nasty taste in my mouth.  Now, all I can taste anymore all day and night is stomach acid and a metal taste.  It's always in the back of my mouth, so food tastes good for about 5 minutes, then it's back to the awful taste.  Brushing my teeth, mouthwash, gum, candy....nothing is helping it go away.  Is anyone else experiencing this or has experienced this in the past?

Our #2 is on the way!

    Ask your Dr about pepcid AC.  Mine suggested that I take 2 a day (1 in the morning and 1 at night).  He said to give it 2-3 days and it should help.  It has calmed the acid reflux down quite a bit.

    Zantac is also often recommended by doctors.

    Boo to heartburn!  I"ve taken the generic of Prilosec OTC and it works great...I can't give you any info on the bad taste in your mouth though - I've had that this ENTIRE pregnancy.  Try taking the Prilosec about an hour before you're going to lay down for the night.

    Thanks for your input ladies.  I think I'll give the nurse a call and see if I can be put on something a bit stronger than Tums.

    Oh dear, I know how you feel! I never had any morning sickness and I feel like I am definitely paying for it now with heartburn. Mine isn't nearly as bad as yours, but I still wake up almost every night from acid rockets shooting up into my throat or just plain annoying heartburn.
