16 month old who wants to nurse all the time...

My 16 month old boy is suddenly obsessed with nursing... wants to do it every time he sees me it feels like, whenever he is even slightly bored, slightly tired, etc. Used to STTN to 5 am, now is back in our bed around 1 am til morning, wanting to nurse nurse nurse.

I am in no rush to wean, (DD nursed til 20 months, when I was also 5 months pregnant) but I would like any tips/commiseration for dealing with the sudden obsession.

    Is he getting teeth, molars perhaps?  Is he embarking on a new developmental milestone?  DD went through this recently (although still STTN), but wanting to nurse more frequently.  I think it was related to her getting two molars and she has started to walk.

    Oh and I just tried to offer water first or distract her in some way.  But didn't push too hard, if she really wanted to nurse I would.  She seems to be going back to her usual self though, I think like so many things, it's just a phase.
