I'm almost finished with Jennifer Block's Pushed. I have read (on here) that lots of people were less than impressed with Ina May Gaskin's book. Has anyone read Painless Childbirth: An Empowering Journey Through Pregnancy and Childbirth, by Tornetta? Any other great book suggestions?

I read Natural Hospital Birth: The Best of Both Worlds, by Cynthia Gabriel & really got a lot out of it. I'm in a Natural Birth Class right now and feel ahead of the game, thanks to the book.

Ina May all the way! haha. Really, she paints this wonderful picture of natural childbirth as being amazing, serene, and unlike anything else. She makes me excited about the labor experience, even though I know it's going to be a struggle!
Re: Book recs?
that's surprising...ina may's books are always among the first to be rec'd here.
click on the FAQ link in my siggie. there is a post for recommended reading!
The only person that isn't in love with Ina's Guide to Childbirth is me. Don't let me scare you off - lots of people love love love it.
Ditto the FAQ - there's a whole list.
