There are so many articles on how a parent not having immunizations is harmful to the baby, I understand that what with the antibodies of the mother being the only thing protecting the child for the first six months. My problem is this, whooping cough is making a comeback due to adults not getting boosters, infants are particularly susceptible, and guess what the one thing I'm allergic to is. Since my allergy is severe (The doctors say even a mild case could kill me and the vaccination definitely would) I have never had the shots and I am wondering what I can do for my child when I do get pregnant. Any thoughts or anyone in the same spot?
I'd love to know too. What reactions do you guys have? I had a fever of 105 and paralysis. I'm also asthmatic so the thought of getting whooping cough scares me too. I asked my GP and she said there wasn't anything I could do except wash my hands and avoid anyone I know who has it. I'd love to know if you hear anything different.

Re: Parent Immunization Help Please!
Oh wow! I've never heard this one before!
I would talk to your OBGYN to find out what resources they suggest you take and any advice they could give you.
