We're attempting the 3 day PT this weekend (eek!!) and I'm thinking I should buy something that we'll be able to use when we eventually make it out of the house. What do you take with you?
I wipe off the toilet if needed; sometimes w/a diaper wipe if it really needs it and then wash DD's hands.
The only bad experience I've ever had was using a port a john at the circus. Which was very, very gross, but whatevs - I used Purell'd her hands after and took a long bath that night.
It is great. stick it in your bag and never have to worry but potty while you are out. My niece had one she used until she was around 5 and too big for it. It is great as were are always outdoor and pretty active and truly hate those portajohns.
I have a Potette and I keep it in the car in case we are driving and she has to go. DD will usually use the regular public potty once I wipe it down. I also keep post it notes to prevent the automatic flush from scaring her.
DS stands to pee - haven't really pooped in public yet. When he was smaller he would stand on my feet if he wasn't tall enough now he is usually big enough. I do the lifting of the seat and wipe or use tiolet papper to lift it if it is really gross.
We just bring a pack of Lysol wipes and create a nest She's a little girl so it seems like she'll fall in at any second but I want her to be able to go anywhere. We used the 3day method at 22mos and had great success! GL
A potty seat adapter in a really large purse - And before you think oh god she's one of "those"moms" - DD has an irrational fear of falling into public toilets thanks to MIL trying to put her on one when she was not ready so its either that or let her have an accident in public...
(Tried the folding toilet seat and she won't touch it with a 10 ft pole)

We use this foldable seat and a purse sized Lysol.

This. I want DS to be comfortable going anywhere without me having to tote one more thing around.
