So I told my mom that I would help her by finding the invites for the shower, because I love stationary, but I'm having a hard time finding cute ones that don't cost a fortune. What's everyone else doing?

Target has some cute ones- just go to their site and type in baby shower invitations. I saw this kit in-store. I think it's a good deal because you get invitations and thank you notes all in the same kit.
I also do custom designs, I've included a pic of the design I did for our son [and some other custom samples ] GOOD LUCK finding an invite! You can also try etsy.com

I ordered through shutterfly.. there was a 50% off promo code plus free shipping code so for 75 of them I paid a total of 40$. you might look there just be sure to google for promo codes to keep the costs down. (plus you can sometimes use more than one code)

I couldn't find any I liked or was willing to pay the amount they wanted for them, so I ended up making mine. My cousin printed all the info on vellum then we put that over cute animal print scrap book paper I had found that I liked. We attached them with eyelets that had coordinating little flowers on the top. I like how they turned out and they super easy to put together and cheap!
I have ordered baby shower invites from vistaprint before and they were very reasonably priced. I know my aunt got my shower invites from etsy.com. The lady she ordered from could print them for her or she could pay $15 for the digital design (that the lady would change until it was exactly what we wanted) and then we could have printed them ourselves.

This. I LOVE Etsy. You can find stationary sellers who will do the printing for you, or sell you the digital copy to be printed yourself from home or sent to a printer like target, walgreens, shutterfly, etc...
