My late grandmother's name was Liberty Marie. She was born in Spain but moved to the USA shortly after her birth which is the reason her parents chose to name her Liberty. She went by Libby most of her life.
I was originally planning to honor her with her middle name Marie, but the more I think about it, I really love the nn Libby. I don't think I would ever use Liberty. What are some other names that could have this nn?
And, FWIW, what do you think of Liberty?
Re: Liberty/Libby
I know a Liberty/Libby and it's sort of cute. It can be a bit in-your-face patriotic, but I don't mind it.
If it was your grandmother's name, I support using it. Full speed ahead.
If you don't want to use Liberty, but like Libby, Elizabeth is the obvious alternative. You could also try Olivia or Lilibeth.

I know a two year old named Liberty with the nn Libby. Honestly, when I first heard her name I wasn't a fan. It has really grown on me though. I think it's great that it was your grandmother's name. I say use it!
