Avery....Boy or girl or unisex?

We are TTC and have been talking about baby names a lot lately. Anyways, we are for sure going with Avery William if we have a boy. We both absolutely love the name but in the back of my mind I'm a little scared that it will become more popular for girls and that he will get teased at school. What are your thoughts?

While it's still technically unisex, it's very much skewed towards girls these days. It's a lovely name, but I feel like it's eventually going to be like naming your son Meredith or Stacey. Technically, both unisex, but they're associated far more often with girls than boys.

    Great middle name! ;)

It already is popular for girls. It was ranked 23 last year for girls and 210 for boys.

It's unisex, but girls have taken it over! It's becoming extremely popular. Nice name though...

It's unisex. I prefer it for a boy. It's at the top of my list if we ever have another baby.

I prefer it for a girl, it doesn't sound very manly to me. Either way it is still unisex and nms.

I agree with this.  I probably wouldn't name my son Avery now because it is so popular for girls.

I do think it is unisex meaning if I heard it on a boy I would think it was strange but IRL I know about 3 little  Averys and they are all girl.   Def. more of a girl name in my area...

All the little Avery's I know are girls. I do know one little boy with the middle name Avery, though...

I love the name, for a girl though. To me it's 100% girl

I feel like Avery is unisex, but I'd prefer it for a girl name.

I do know someone who named her son Avery & it fits him very well.
