TTC After a Loss

How many dpo till implantation? the long version...

So it has been almost 7 months since my latest m/c.  I STILL do not have a referral to the specialist that I've been repeatedly promised. So I took steps to call a new PCM and have an appointment scheduled in July.  Meanwhile I'll still try to get the referral lady to get her head out of her ass long enough to get my referral :)

Meanwhile, there is a strong possibility I'm pregnant again (though I said that last month too LOL) which would render the referral moot. - I'd be back at my OBGYN who has no idea why I can't hold a pregnancy and referred me out saying "She'll probably run all the same test I did, keep you on the progesterone and add aspirin."  so I've added baby aspirin to my daily intake.  I figure, what do I have to lose.

So, I am, by my estimation and with my first time testing of cervical placement, 6dpo.  Saturday I had the worst stomach ache (that would have been 3 dpo for those keeping track) mostly bowel pain and running to the bathroom.  I have IBS but haven't had a flair up in ages, so it could have been that, but I didn't eat anything weird to cause it.  I've also been really tired and as of yesterday I've been having a lot of uterine cramping (pms-like feeling).  Which tells me nothing because I have that when I'm NOT pregnant, I have it when I AM pregnant and I also have it when I'm about to miscarry, so not a helpful symptom over all. And I have had a bit of nausea a couple times but that could have been anything too, not really a "oh hey you're definitely pregnant" kind of sign this early on.

I know they say 6 dpo is to early for symptoms so I'm either 1) crazy 2) having issues that are not pregnancy related 3) I ovulated earlier than thought or 4) you can implant as early as 6dpo?

So I did a search "how may days after ovulation to implantation." Ask says 6.  Other places say 7-10 others say 10.  Does anyone know the REAL number of days to implantation, or is it all just guesswork, each woman's body is different kinda dealio?  Curious as to everyone's thoughts.

  • From everything I've read/reasearched, I think it depends on the person... sorry I can't be of more help..

  • I've read anywhere from 6 to 12 days for implantation to occur.

  • I've heard that IB may occur between 5 DPO-12 DPO.  However, if you don't get it doesn't mean that you're not pregnant.  Some women get this and some don't.  Also, if you know that you spot before your period, it maybe that.  However if you chart, this link has more info as well:  https://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Implantation-time-and-signs.html

Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled.  However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15!  Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!

Surprise!  Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due.  Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!

Schmell, that sums it up COMPLETELY!!!  That is totally how I feel! lol...

I did some more research and found this:

"Please remember that every woman is different and the time it takes for the fertilized egg to implant in your uterus wall can vary. A common misconception is that implantation occurs 7 days after conception, but the research findings showed that first appearance of pregnancy hormone, HCG, due to implantation occurred 6-12 days after ovulation, with 84% of the pregnancies implanting on days 8-10 after ovulation. If you don?t get a positive pregnancy test, it doesn?t mean that you are not pregnant. It could be that you ovulated later than you thought (meaning that conception and subsequent HCG production didn?t happen as you calculated) or that, for you, implantation took longer than the average"

So it i IS possible to implant by 6dpo, so it IS possible that the little cramping I'm feeling is in relation to that or hormones, and it IS possible that I'm pregnant.  Course, it's also possible I'm not!!!   Damn 2WW!!!!! LOL

  • Implantation CAN occur between 6-12DPO...

  • Thanks ladies.. I just saw one that said you can implant as early as 5dpo... sheese... so essentially its that same ol', "we're all different" and there is nothing we can do but wait.

I don't know why but I just have a good feeling this month.  (that's probably a bad sign lol)

It is amazing how you can drive yourself crazy. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this getting pregnant thing is NOT easy, despite what we were all led to believe.  It's a lot of work, frustration and disappointment when it's suppose to be fun, exciting and scary (in a good way)... We all got the shaft (no pun intended) and will never get to experience the joy of being virtually worry-free-pregnant like we were before our (first) MCs...  Sorry for the vent.

So I'm being hopeful and optimistic...   (despite the tone of this missive). :)

  • Ooooh! I LIKE that!   MF... I have a MF!!!  At least now I have something to call this neurotic mess!!! ;)  I told myself I wouldn't do this again this month.  You'd think after two years of going through this I'd learn!!!!  Nope.  Glutton for punishment!

Everyone in their 2ww means it's possible that they are pregnant.

However, you must have a super powerful ute if you have cramps due to implantation! I don't think there is a woman out there who can feel implantation.
