that's the one that my DD uses. I already bought another one for the new baby. We've had no issues! I Love it. I use the white noise sound for her but there are several others.
We've used once since we transitioned S to her crib. We could probably not use it, but I get paranoid that she'll wake up from the sounds of the tv or whatever as our house has wood floors and sound travels. We have the HoMedics SoundSpa, got it at Wal-Mart, we play the Ocean sound on it. It's in the room with her.

It's not pretty but it blocks out nearly everything. DH sometimes uses one in his office when he is seeing patients. We are going away this weekend and I actually had a nightmare that I forgot it. I used to be cool...
Like many others on these boards, we use the Homedics Sound Spa (aka "baby crack machine"). It works perfectly -- DD has slept to the "ocean" sounds every night of her life. I keep it on as loud as it goes, and it's maybe 5 feet from her crib.
It has held up great -- it travels with us everywhere. The projector broke almost as soon as we got it, but it's not a big deal. I still turn the projector on so it's like a nightlight, it just doesn't rotate.
We have the Homedics Sound Spa. I put it a few feet from the crib, but the volume is pretty low. I turn it higher if we have guests, so that we don't wake him up being loud. I usually use the rain or ocean setting. If I had got it earlier, I might have used the heartbeat setting when he was a newborn. The projector makes a clicking sound if I leave it on for more than an hour, but that's the only issue I've had with it.

We use one. I downloaded a Baby White Noise CD to my iPod and have it on "headwaters." I just put that on repeat all night and voila! We will be moving (twice!) in the next few months. With so much transititon going on, I can't imagine getting rid of it any time soon.
Although my DD is just over 1 yr old. If she were older and we weren't moving, I'd probably start to wean her from it.
We've used one since DD was about 2 weeks old. Then, it's been in her room since she transitioned to her crib around 6 months and we still use it for naps and night. Here's the link, and we set it to the "ocean waves" setting, about medium volume. We leave it on all night, and barely even notice it in the monitor ourselves.
We have the same one. I've used it in DD's room since the time she was born. We alternate between the different sounds, but she seems to like the ocean and rain settings best.
